Your immediate help needed

Last week we told you about how Planned Parenthood uses the summer months to target teens. We have more on Planned Parenthood in the remainder of this week's report, but first I need to call your attention to an urgent need.

While Planned Parenthood receives hundreds of millions of dollars in government money, which keeps coming in no matter what time of the year it is, our work is funded by free will donations from our individual supporters. At this time of the year, it is normal for our funding to take a dip, but this year has been horrific.

At our regular meeting this morning, we learned that we are $272,856 behind last year's income on this date. That amount is a drop in the bucket to Planned Parenthood, but it is a major blow to us. We are doing everything we can to cut costs while we continue fighting Planned Parenthood, but we need your help if we are to continue to have an impact.

We have been doing everything possible to increase our efforts against Planned Parenthood and our support of local groups fighting Planned Parenthood. But, if we do not receive additional gifts right away, we will have to begin cutting back on our efforts. If we do that, Planned Parenthood wins.

Each of you who receive this Wednesday STOPP Report knows the devastation caused by Planned Parenthood. Many of you have received help directly from us. Now, we are asking for your help. Can you, or your group, send a donation of $100 right now? Can you send more? Can you send a lesser amount? No matter what your donation, we need your financial support right now.

This is the age of electronic communications. You can help us by going to our secure donation page and sending your tax-deductible gift by credit card right now at: https://secure.entango.com/donate/P3u66YFEkGJ. Please do not put this off.

If you can't send a gift by computer, then please call us at 540-659-4171 and ask for Becky. She will be happy to take your donation over the phone. You can also mail your maximum tax-deductible donation to American Life League, P.O. Box 1350, Stafford, Virginia 22555. Write STOPP Report in the memo section of the check so we know you are an opponent of Planned Parenthood.

Thank you. Planned Parenthood president haunted?

Is Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, haunted by the images of the 250,000 babies a year that her organization kills? That is one impression that leaps out from the pages of the July issue of Vogue magazine.

Vogue did an article on Ms. Richards that talked about her role as the leader of Planned Parenthood and her "fearless" defense of "a woman's right to choose." Yet the picture that covers two pages at the beginning of the article conjures up an image worthy of a Hollywood horror movie.

There is Cecile, sitting at her desk in Planned Parenthood's offices surrounded by five lovely young toddlers of various ethnic backgrounds. Is it just a coincidence that each of those babies represents 50,000 young lives taken at Planned Parenthood facilities around the country last year? We don't think so.

The thing that strikes you about the babies is that none of them are smiling. The one in Cecile's lap has the most neutral look, while the one standing at the front of the desk appears to be screaming. An African-American baby seems to be cowering in the back against the credenza and the baby closest to the camera has a wide-eyed facial expression that seems to scream, "Get me out of here!"

The reason for the ominous presence of these babies is made even clearer in the article when we learn that Ms. Richards once made the choice to end the life of her own child through abortion. Women who have had abortions often speak of the deep-down sadness they feel and of the efforts they make to portray a positive image on the outside while they are collapsing on the inside.

Many post-abortive women find solace in building a relationship with God. Yet the article describes Richards's religious affiliation as being a "lapsed Unitarian."

So what do you do when you say that you have been responsible for the death of your own child and you find yourself in the position of leading the largest chain of abortion mills in the country? You bury yourself in work and you surround yourself with images that belie what is happening in your soul. You give fiery speeches, all the while punctuating your words "with karate chops," and hope nobody notices the pain within.

The picture and the article left me with just one overwhelming thought - this woman needs a lot of prayers. So I ask you all to join me in praying for Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood. This woman probably doesn't realize it and would most likely deny it if asked, but she is hurting. She needs God in her life. She needs to find Jesus. She needs to speak to another mother, the Mother of Mercy, and allow God's healing powers to soothe her soul. Please, please pray for her.

Planned Parenthood worried about South Dakota

Planned Parenthood is very worried that the law in South Dakota will be upheld by the people of that state. In the Vogue picture described above, Cecile Richards is sitting at her desk and behind her are file folders arranged to be at her fingertips. Along with all the folders on various financial programs of PPFA is one labeled "South Dakota." Obviously, this is something she is watching closely.

In the article itself, Richards says she has been traveling the country, speaking to Planned Parenthood affiliates. She says she gets many questions, but among the questions "always, always: What are you going to do about South Dakota."

American Life League has been on the ground in South Dakota ever since the law was passed. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars on advertising, travel expenses, literature and T-shirts - anything we can do to help state pro-lifers fend off the thrust of the national office of Planned Parenthood.

In a press release on May 30, Sarah Stoesz, CEO of Planned Parenthood in South Dakota, identified American Life League as the major national group helping the people of South Dakota. And we intend to keep helping them, doing whatever they think will best help their cause.

As we write this report, our Rock For Life summer youth team is in South Dakota. They just completed a weekend at the Hills Alive festival, distributing pro-life literature, and will be in Sioux Falls for the rest of the week educating, educating, educating.

Please help us keep all of our commitments to the people of South Dakota by sending your maximum donation today. Call 540-659-4171 and ask for Becky.

Planned Parenthood opposition in Waco

On July 26, the day of Planned Parenthood's "Nobody's Fool" sexuality program in Waco, Texas, Pro-Life Waco will be holding a press conference bringing to light new and damaging information about the Planned Parenthood affiliate in Waco.

Pro-Life Waco, an American Life League associate group, has been at the forefront of fighting Planned Parenthood for years. They publicized the free distribution of the outlandish book, It's Perfectly Normal, to children in grades 7-9 who attended Nobody's Fool. They also began a fight against the Girl Scouts support of Nobody's Fool and worked with American Life League on a nationwide effort against the Girl Scouts.

For more information on the upcoming press conference, contact John Pisciotta, co-director of Pro-Life Waco, john_pisciotta@prolifewaco.org

Anti-Planned Parenthood ads ready for your use

American Life League has created four anti-Planned Parenthood ads that you are welcome to use to spread the word about PP in your community. The ads are available in PDF format.

Some people across the country are running the ads in their local papers. Others are printing them out to use as posters and fliers.

We plan to create additional ads in the coming months, and will notify you in this report when they are available.

Spreading the word about Planned Parenthood

We have always maintained that we cannot defeat Planned Parenthood sitting in our offices in Virginia. So, our team is on the road as much as possible, speaking and demonstrating against Planned Parenthood all across the nation.

This fall, we have already committed to be in:

  • Arizona (Phoenix)
  • Indiana (Michigan City)
  • Kansas (Kansas City)
  • Maine (Westbrook)
  • Michigan (Marquette, Wexford)
  • New Hampshire (Merrimack)
  • Ohio (Dayton, Mansfield)
  • Oregon (Sandy)
  • Texas (Amarillo, Dallas, Groom, Houston, Lufkin, Denison, Waco)
  • Pennsylvania (Chambersburg)
  • Washington (Moses Lake)

The specific dates can be found online.

While at these engagements, we frequently meet separately with local pro-lifers and help them put together workable plans for the fight against Planned Parenthood in their community.

If you would like us to visit your town, or if you live near one of the speaking venues and want to meet to discuss your local fight, just e-mail us at stopp@all.org and we'll be happy to accommodate you.

Thank you

We thank all of you for your persistence in the fight against Planned Parenthood. If you have not already done so, PLEASE click here to send us your maximum donation so we can continue to help pro-lifers everywhere fight Planned Parenthood.

Thank you.
