IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUESTED
Today we bring you notice of a pending new Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Houston, Texas. We will also let you know what every pro-lifer across the nation can do to try to stop this facility.
Although the fight against Planned Parenthood rages every day of the year all across the nation, there are times when immediate action may help save babies' lives. This is one of those times.
The information in this report was provided by the Houston Coalition for Life (P.O. Box 301094, Houston, TX 77230; phone: 713-395-1330; fax: 713-395-1332; e-mail: staff@houstoncoalition.com). The coalition is coordinating this effort; please contact them for further information or to lend your support.
Please read the following items and take the actions suggested right away. There is no time to lose.
Planned Parenthood of Houston
Planned Parenthood of Houston is one of the most nefarious of Planned Parenthood abortion operations in the country. The affiliate operates a total of 10 clinics and two of them – in Bryan and Houston (on Fannin Street) – perform surgical abortions. Medical personnel at Planned Parenthood of Houston have actually invented new ways of killing children (e.g., manual vacuum aspiration) and exported the killing techniques all across the world.
Planned Parenthood of Houston has posted its prices for abortions on its web site for years. The currently posted prices are:
- Medical Abortion - $450 Fannin, $450 Bryan
- 10 days to 4.6 weeks - $595 Fannin, $630 Bryan
- 5 weeks to 9.6 weeks - $395 Fannin, $450 Bryan
- 10 weeks to 11.6 weeks - $450 Fannin, $510 Bryan
- 12 weeks to 13.6 weeks - $595 Fannin, $650 Bryan
- 14 weeks to 15.6 weeks - $850
- ultrasound only - $280
- Price includes everything, no additional charges. Payment may be made by MasterCard/VISA, Discover, Amercian [sic] Express, cash, check, or money order.
Planned Parenthood of Houston used to do second trimester abortions, charging over $1,200 for killing babies that old. It had to stop doing these lucrative abortions because of a change in Texas regulations on the type of medical facility that could commit those abortions.
For almost two years, the Houston Coalition for Life has been monitoring Planned Parenthood's plans to expand the Houston abortion facility to bring it into compliance with new state regulations.
In its latest annual report, the abortion chain tried to justify its expansion plans to donors. Here's what Planned Parenthood stated: "Our existing facilities cannot support the growth we have recently faced, much less our ambitious plans for the future. We are currently formulating plans to address our expanding needs and those of our clients."
Here's what Planned Parenthood really means: Our existing facilities cannot support late-term abortions, because new Texas laws now dictate that terminations late in pregnancy can only be performed in ambulatory surgical centers.
So Planned Parenthood is gearing-up for a costly construction project to "update" their facilities and begin killing children later in pregnancy.
Late breaking news and action for you to take
The Houston Coalition for Life has just received information from several reliable -- and unrelated – sources that Sterling Bank is in the process of transferring ownership of a six-story building at 4600 Gulf Freeway in Houston.
Our sources further suggest that the abortion organization intends to occupy the building in the near future.
Now is the time to ACT! Here's what you can do to make an impact today:
- Pray that God will stop this madness.
- Contact Sterling Bank and politely voice your concerns about transferring ownership of their building to
- Planned Parenthood. Ask them to rethink their decision so this building will not be used by an abortion business.
- Tell them that, if they insist on transferring the ownership, that they put in a deed restriction so no abortions can be performed in the building.
- Let them know how their decisions regarding this matter will affect your future business and banking decisions (if you do not live in Texas, but have relatives or friends there, let them know you will tell everyone of the bank's involvement in Planned Parenthood’s abortion business).
- You can contact bank management at the following phone and fax numbers or by e-mail:
Mr. J. Downey Bridgwater
CEO, Sterling Bank
Phone: 713-466-8300
Fax: 713-466-3117
E-mail: info@banksterling.com
A related development at the Fannin abortion site
The Coalition for Life has also learned that Heights Builders has contracted with Planned Parenthood for a minor remodel job at the existing abortion facility at 3601 Fannin in Houston.
The coalition has contacted Heights Builders and respectfully asked them to withdraw from the project. They report that the owner, Greg Harbin, has been informed that:
- 3601 Fannin is the site of the main abortion facility for Planned Parenthood of Houston and Southeast Texas, and according to Planned Parenthood's latest annual report, the lives of 6,376 babies were terminated at that location in the last year.
- Employees and subcontractors of Heights Builders will be confronted with this fact on a daily basis as there are prayer warriors and sidewalk counselors present there peacefully several hours a day, six days a week.
The coalition also reports that Mr. Harbin “seemed shocked to hear what took place at the site but refused to withdraw from the project.”
We ask all of you to immediately contact Mr. Harbin and respectfully ask him to reconsider and withdraw from the remodel job. Remind him that the majority of people in Houston are not in favor of expanding or "enhancing" an abortion facility. Tell him his participation in a project at the Planned Parenthood’s abortion facility will be considered when you decide what contractor to use in future construction (again, if you are not a Houston resident, but have friends and relatives in Houston, let him know you will spread the word).
You can contact him at:

A word of caution
We are all in this fight to save the lives of innocent babies and prevent Planned Parenthood’s attacks on our teens. In a situation like this, where we are trying to prevent Planned Parenthood from acquiring a building to commit second trimester abortions, emotions can run high.
We ask you to remember that we do this, not for ourselves, but for the love of the babies and teens, and the love of Christ. Christ told us in Matthew, Chapter 10, to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves.
When you make contact with the bank and with the builder, please remember to be firm but gentle. We are trying to change hearts and no hearts can be changed while screaming is going on. Please treat the people who answer the phone with respect. You want to get your message to Mr. Bridgwater and Mr. Harbin. Then, pray for both of these men that God will move their hearts.
We are all servants of God who have been told of an atrocity about to happen and we will seek to alert those involved to the dangers and pray that God will answer our prayers and save babies’ lives.
