More resources to use in reaching Spanish-speaking people

Last week we brought you information on how Planned Parenthood targets the Spanish-speaking community. We gave you a link to American Life League's Spanish language resources.

A great source of additional information is the web site of Vida Humana Internacional - Human Life International's Hispanic division in Miami. It provides abundant information on Planned Parenthood and other life/family issues, including a post-abortion videotaped testimony that can be downloaded free. You can visit online. The web site offers an English language section where you can find out about Planned Parenthood's anti-life activities in Latin America.

Planned Parenthood corrupts Mother's Day

You have to admire the utter chutzpah of the people at Planned Parenthood. You would think that of all the holidays of the year, this organization that kills the babies of more than 255,000 mothers a year, would find little to celebrate on Mother's Day. But you would be wrong.

We have received e-mails from a number of Planned Parenthood affiliates asking for donations to Planned Parenthood in honor of mothers on Mother's Day! Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. brazenly says:

You can show your appreciation for your mother's love and devotion by making a gift in honor or in memory of her to Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington.

Mother's Day is one day we can honor the women who have shaped our lives. Here at PPMW, Mother's Day also reminds us of our mission - to ensure that every child is wanted, nurtured, and enormously loved.

Making a gift to PPMW helps generations of women, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, nieces, and daughters.

The International Planned Parenthood Federation Western Hemisphere Region office in New York City says:

With Mother's Day just around the corner on May 14th you're probably thinking about how to show the special women in your life how much you love and appreciate them.

Well, we've got a great idea for you!

Why not honor the special women in your life by taking one simple action to help empower women all around the world?

It's easy - click here to join us in urging Congress to increase funding for international family planning programs.

We encourage all of our readers to take action and call attention to this latest outrage by Planned Parenthood. Write a letter to the editor. Or demonstrate outside Planned Parenthood on the Saturday before Mother's Day.

An American Life League associate group, www.MarchTogether.com, is sponsoring "Mother's Day at the Abortion Mills." They are encouraging pro-lifers to coordinate and/or attend prayer vigils at abortion mills on the Saturday prior to Mother's Day (this year, May 13). On this day in particular, we encourage pro-lifers to pray that the mothers visiting these centers will have a change of heart and decide to give their children a chance at life, sparing both their children and themselves all of the suffering that accompanies the deadly act of abortion.

If you have a Planned Parenthood facility in your area, we encourage you to be there in large numbers. Let Planned Parenthood know that they can't kill babies and then honor their mothers. How sick is that?

American Life League responds to Planned Parenthood's Mother's Day promotions

American Life League responded to these outrageous promotions by Planned Parenthood and issued the following release:

You can't have Mother's Day without babies

"How is it possible for Planned Parenthood, operator of the nation's largest chain of abortion clinics, to conduct a fundraising campaign with a Mother's Day theme?" asked American Life League president Judie Brown. "It's simply horrifying to think that anyone involved in abortion - even Planned Parenthood - could have the audacity to claim any association at all with a day designed to salute a mother's selfless love for her children."

Over the years, Planned Parenthood has committed more than three million abortions. "That's three million instances in which mothers permitted their children to be killed at this organization's hands," said Mrs. Brown. "For many of these women, Mother's Day is an annual reminder of the unspeakable evil they permitted to be perpetrated on their own flesh and blood."

A recent e-mail communication from Jatrice Martel Gaiter, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., urged supporters to "honor your mother in a very special way" with a financial contribution to Planned Parenthood. Gaiter said that at Planned Parenthood's Washington affiliate, "Mother's Day also reminds us of our mission - to ensure that every child is wanted, nurtured, and enormously loved."

"Can Planned Parenthood be serious?" asked Mrs. Brown. "Ms. Gaiter's words have a ghastly ring to them. How is it that a beautiful baby, which she describes as 'nurtured and enormously loved,' can be violently put to death in the offices that she oversees? And how could it be that such a 'service' be funded in honor of the woman who gave life to these potential contributors?"

Mrs. Brown said it's no secret that many women who abort their children suffer physically, emotionally and psychologically for years after the abortion. Post-abortion counselors say the grief is especially intense on the anniversary of the abortion, the anniversary of the baby's due date - and on Mother's Day. "If anyone wishes to eliminate such suffering for the next generation of mothers, the last thing they should do is to fund this purveyor of death," she said. "We encourage all pro-life Americans to put a stop to Planned Parenthood's largest contribution - the $265 million this organization gets every year from our federal, state and local tax dollars. This latest atrocity should be the final straw. Enough is enough!"

Calling all Catholics in Boise, Idaho … and elsewhere

Sometimes you read a news item and something just jumps out at you. When things like this happen, I truly believe it is the Holy Spirit telling you to pay attention. This happened to me when I read the following news item:

Planned Parenthood of Idaho will provide reproductive health care services in Nampa [Idaho] from 11 am to 4 pm on the first Saturday of each month at the Applebaum Family Mental Health Center at 924 12th Avenue Road.

A simple statement, right? But what struck me was "first Saturday."

Now, I'm sure that no one at Planned Parenthood is aware of the significance of First Saturdays to Catholics. They probably don't realize that Saturdays in general are the days that Catholics pay particular tribute to Mary, the Mother of God. And, that First Saturdays are particularly important as a lot of Catholics go to Mass, Communion and Confession on First Saturdays as an act of reparation.

But one thing is clear. On the day Catholics, in a special way, honor Mary, who is the ultimate symbol of purity, Planned Parenthood is tempting and enabling our young people to engage in a life of sin by selling them all sorts of birth control products.

There are already pro-life demonstrations outside this Planned Parenthood operation on the First Saturday of each month in Nampa. We encourage every Catholic in the area to use this day to be out in front of this facility in an effort to educate the young girls on the dangers of a promiscuous life style and the benefits of chastity. What better way to honor Mary than to rescue her daughters from the grips of the sexual lifestyle?

Of course, this First Saturday effort need not be limited to Nampa, Idaho. Why not be outside of every Planned Parenthood facility in the nation carrying an image of Mary on the first Saturday of every month? Surely, it will make her smile.

Schedule a speaker

We are beginning to get calls for speaking engagements in September, October and November. If you would like for Jim Sedlak or David Bereit to speak at your event this fall, please call (540-659-4171) or e-mail as soon as possible to reserve your dates.
