STOPP annual survey of Planned Parenthood facilities in the United States
Introduction: The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the largest and richest affiliate of the International Planned Parenthood Federation. PPFA is comprised of a number of affiliates within the United States. Each of these affiliates operates a number of facilities that provide medical services. Each year, American Life League's STOPP International project conducts a nationwide survey to determine the exact number and type of facilities operated by each of the PPFA affiliates.
Types of PP facilities: Planned Parenthood operates a number of different types of facilities across the country. The following types are of special interest to American Life League and we report specifically on them:
- Health clinics that do chemical abortions by selling birth control products that work a percentage of the time by preventing implantation of an already created human being.
- Health clinics that do chemical and medical abortions (using products like RU-486 to kill babies after implantation) but not surgical ones
- Health clinics that do chemical, medical and surgical abortions
- Express clinics that provide limited expedited services. Planned Parenthood says, "At an express health center, clients who are short on time and do not require a table examination can quickly pick up their birth control medication or get contraceptive advice." It appears this is an effort by PP to increase its number of clients without significantly increasing expenses.
- Contracted services are used by Planned Parenthood of Utah. It contracts with doctors and other health care providers to service PP clients. This appears to be an effort to increase its client count without incurring overhead expenses.
Caveat: The data used in this survey come from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to, printed Planned Parenthood material, Planned Parenthood internet postings, and reports from individuals around the country. Planned Parenthood is a large, complex business and its clinic numbers and locations are continually changing. This survey is conducted over a 90-day period and the results posted below are accurate to the best of our ability on the date indicated.
Errata: We invite all readers of this survey to report to us any discrepancies they find in the data. If we have missed any of the PP facilities, or if one has closed, we would appreciate your notifying us at stopp@all.org.

Watch for notice
In January, we will be posting on our web site a complete list of every Planned Parenthood facility in the United States. We will notify you in a future Wednesday STOPP Report when that is available.
Happy New Year
As 2005 draws to a close, we look back and thank God for the small progress we have made. Many babies have been saved outside Planned Parenthood facilities across the nation. As best we can determine, Planned Parenthood has closed down a total of 12 facilities in nine different states (California, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin).
We at American Life League are putting in place plans to increase our efforts against Planned Parenthood in 2006. We intend to offer you more resources to use in your efforts against Planned Parenthood and provide a point of contact for anyone who wants to take on the evil giant.
Please enjoy the weekend and keep yourself and your family safe.
We wish you all a very happy and holy New Year.
