Bush ignores embryonic deaths funded by Title X
"President Bush has said tax dollars should not be used for killing embryonic human life in a petri dish, but he has recommended that $253.9 million be appropriated for Title X, which funds embryonic killing in the womb," said Ed Szymkowiak, national director of STOPP International, a project of American Life League. Title X is a federally funded domestic birth control program.
Szymkowiak pointed to the well-established fact that many of the most common forms of birth control, including the pill, can sometimes act to prevent implantation of a 5- to 7-day-old human embryo in his or her mother's womb, thus killing the tiny human.
"Since Title X pays for such drugs and devices, Title X funds the killing of human embryos," said Szymkowiak. He is calling on President Bush to show some consistency in his policies regarding embryonic life by retracting his support for Title X.
