"Youth are flocking to the pro-life movement, and it is exciting to see them standing up and actively fighting, without compromise, Planned Parenthood's radical agenda," said Ed Szymkowiak, national director of STOPP International, a Virginia-based organization devoted to stopping Planned Parenthood.
"Planned Parenthood and our government officials had better take a close look at the makeup of this year's March for Life. The pro-life movement is not going away, and the presence of so many highly motivated young people is the proof," he said.
STOPP will be taking part in the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 22. Also, on Jan. 20, STOPP will join American Life League's youth divisions as they line Pennsylvania Ave. during President Bush's inauguration parade to witness to the personhood of the unborn.
Szymkowiak described Planned Parenthood as "the mouthpiece for the multi-million dollar Big Abortion industry. Planned Parenthood Federation of America recently reported that it performed 182,854 abortions in 1999. Using Planned Parenthood's own average of $350 per abortion, that amounts to about $64 million dollars of income. No wonder Planned Parenthood fights so rabidly in our courts and via our government to promote abortion."
In addition, Szymkowiak said, Planned Parenthood kills countless numbers of additional children each year by the so-called contraceptives it sells. Many of these drugs and devices act at times to prevent the implantation of an already-conceived human person within his or her mother's womb.
"These activities, misnamed erroneously labeled family planning have allowed Planned Parenthood to pick the taxpayer's pocket to the tune of $187.3 million during 1999-2000 fiscal year. This is reported in PPFA's latest annual report," said Szymkowiak.
