The latest spate of headlines about Planned Parenthood warms the cockles of my heart. You see, Planned Parenthood is literally losing it, big time, and the public is getting wise to its games.
In Waco, Texas, the Young Men’s Christian Association disinvited Planned Parenthood from its annual Girls Day 2013 event. Why? It did so because pro-life Texans spoke out in a united voice, exposing the true nature of Planned Parenthood’s “plans” for young girls.
In response to the documented comments sent to the YMCA, the “Y” sent an e-mail to each of those who had protested the presence of Planned Parenthood at the event, telling them, “As of Thursday afternoon, Planned Parenthood will not be attending the YMCA of Central Texas’ Girls Day at Doris Miller Family Y. As an organization that serves the Central Texas community, it is our utmost priority to adhere to our mission of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We look forward to the impact that Girls Day will have on the young women of this community.”
Congratulations to John Pisciotta and the Pro-Life Waco team!
Then there’s the Planned Parenthood campaign to smear corporations and members of Congress who support getting rid of the Obama mandate because it tramples on conscience and religious rights in America. The latest ammunition in its bag of tricks is a website with a headline reading “The Bosses Who Want to Deny Your Birth Control Coverage.” The ad contains the faces of these men, the names of their companies, and the usual rhetoric about how men want to rob women of their birth control by denying insurance coverage for such chemicals. The point of the ad is clear, but the arguments Planned Parenthood is using to defame at least one of these men did not go unnoticed.
As Catholic Vote published in its latest release,
Autocam Corporation and its CEO John Kennedy [seen on the site in a video message] have demanded that the Planned Parenthood Action Fund retract the patently false charge that Autocam has not paid property taxes since 1997, as well as other baseless claims circulated by the taxpayer-funded abortion giant. Planned Parenthood leveled the accusations against the Kennedy family as part of a campaign called “The Bosses Who Want to Deny Your Birth Control Coverage.”
In a letter sent Monday, attorneys for Kennedy show that the campaign is fraught with factual inaccuracies that even the most cursory investigation would have revealed. Public records indicate that Autocam has paid almost $10 million in real property and personal property taxes in the state of Michigan since 1997, including $961,386.74 in the year 2012 alone.
The letter demands that Planned Parenthood withdraw its false claims immediately. But what’s most exciting is that this matter has been brought to the public’s attention. By doing so, this latest fiasco only sheds more light on what Planned Parenthood is really all about.
Speaking of shedding light on evil, Jill Stanek has been watching the goings-on since Florida Planned Parenthood lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow argued that doctors should not be required to treat babies born alive after abortion.
Stanek reports that Planned Parenthood tried to backpedal after the Snow affair by saying it does offer “appropriate care” to such babies. Stanek explains the folly in this statement, saying, “It would not be possible for any PP to ‘provide appropriate care to . . . the infant’ unless it had neonatal resuscitation equipment, meds, and personnel trained to provide emergency care to preemies, which I happen to know is no easy task. I’m confident no PP in the U.S. has a neonatal crash cart . . . and nursing staff certified in Neonatal Advanced Life Support.”
Over and over again the same pattern emerges when Planned Parenthood is the topic. But then, as we know only too well, when a nonprofit makes money in the preborn baby-killing business not much can be expected of it.
Planned Parenthood lies about what abortion really does to a human being prior to birth. It cheats the government by submitting fraudulent claims for its “services”—services you and I then have to pay through our tax dollars. And most tragically, it steals the souls of our children.
And that’s just the way it is.
