American Life League’s Celebrate Life Magazine
to Feature Inspiring Story of Gold-Medal Paralympian Jessica Long

Washington, DC----Celebrate Life Magazine, the premier publication of American Life League, will be featuring the inspiring story of 12-time paralympic gold-medalist Jessica Long in its forthcoming July-August issue.

Judie Brown, president of American Life League, stated, “We are so excited to bring Jessica’s story to Celebrate Life Magazine’s readers! Jessica is a shining example of the truth that every human being’s life is precious, regardless of circumstances or disabilities. She is a ray of sunshine in the prevailing culture of darkness.”

The feature article details Jessica’s remarkable story of adoption and triumph over physical challenges and provides insight into the grit and determination she brings to her record-breaking swimming performances and her daily life.

“If you truly can’t care for the child and can’t give the child the life he or she deserves, I would give the child up for adoption, because there is going to be a family out there who will love that baby----no matter what the diagnosis is,” Jessica said. “I know it can seem really discouraging, but in the end, I think that if you would abort the baby, you would definitely regret it. I think, for me, that I would rather know that the baby would have a better life than I could give him or her instead of just terminating him or her.”

American Life League is making this issue available free of charge. To obtain a copy, call 540-659-4171. Celebrate Life Magazine is available via subscription through American Life League and also available on the Internet at www.clmagazine.org.

Hobby Lobby Decision and Abortion Lies

Washington, DC----The Supreme Court's 5-4 decision in the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby case has caused a bit of consternation among pro-abortion fanatics. The ruling makes the following statements:

Although many of the required, FDA-approved methods of contraception work by preventing the fertilization of an egg, four of those methods (those specifically at issue in these cases) may have the effect of preventing an already fertilized egg from developing any further by inhibiting its attachment to the uterus. . . .

They therefore object on religious grounds to providing health insurance that covers methods of birth control that, as HHS acknowledges, see brief for HHS in No. 13-354, at 9, n. 4, may result in the destruction of an embryo.

In each statement, the scientific fact is enunciated that there are forms of chemical contraception that do in fact work in several ways----one of which destroys the embryo because the lining of the woman's uterus is made inhospitable to the embryonic human being.

      As WebMD puts it:

Hormonal contraceptives (the pill, the patch, and the vaginal ring) all contain a small amount of man-made estrogen and progestin hormones. These hormones work to inhibit the body's natural cyclical hormones to prevent pregnancy. Pregnancy is prevented by a combination of factors. The hormonal contraceptive usually stops the body from ovulating. Hormonal contraceptives also change the cervical mucus to make it difficult for the sperm to find an egg. Hormonal contraceptives can also prevent pregnancy by making the lining of the womb inhospitable for implantation.

But this has not stopped the abortion cartel from screaming bloody murder that the decision must be condemned because it sets a dangerous precedent for women's healthcare.

They suggest that there are three lies that were reinforced by the SCOTUS ruling yesterday.

Alleged Lie #1: Birth control is the same as abortion.

Fact#1: Birth control has three modes of action, one of which does in fact destroy human beings prior to implantation. Therefore, birth control can be the same as abortion.

Alleged Lie #2: Birth control should be separated from other types of medical services.

Fact #2: The birth control pill and its progeny do not treat a medical condition, but rather are promoted as a way for women to avoid pregnancy. Therefore, these pills are not actual medical services but are, in fact, recreational drugs.

Alleged Lie #3: It's easier for the government to pay for people's birth control so that companies don't have to.

Fact #3: The government should never have gotten into the business of providing payment for contraceptives or abortion in the first place. [blog=6613]Neither is healthcare[/blog], and neither is good for women or babies.

The last word is this: Abortion mongers never met an abortion they did not like. They have never seen an act of killing a preborn baby that they did not think the government----meaning taxpayers----should pay for, no matter what the cost in human lives or women's health.

The least they could do is tell the truth.

ALL: Supreme Court decision says government can mandate taxpayers pay for abortifacients

Washington, DC----“While on the surface today’s Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case appears to be a victory for religious liberty,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League, “a careful reading of the decision reveals problems for the future.”

“In what it admits is a very narrow ruling, the Court bought the argument that the government has a ‘compelling interest’ in providing free abortifacient products to women,” explained Brown. “It only objected to the government making for-profit business owners pay for those products. The Court specifically explained that the government could potentially solve the problem by offering for-profit businesses the same accommodation that is offered to the nonprofit sector----the same accommodation that is the subject of numerous lawsuits.”

“The Court also specifically said the government could solve the problem by just paying for all contraceptives itself----including the abortifacient ones,” Brown continued. “Of course, the only money the government has comes from taxpayers. Thus, the Supreme Court, in deciding this case, told the government that money taken from taxpayers----many of whom have the same objections as the business owners in this case----can be used to pay for these abortifacient products.”

“While today’s decision is a victory for the for-profit businesses who brought the case,” Brown concluded, “it appears to simply continue the slide of America into hedonism. America is no longer a country that hails truth over falsehoods. It has been reduced to a conglomeration of institutions willing to settle for the ‘least burdensome’ way to embrace evil. May God have mercy on us.”

American Life League President Judie Brown Reacts to 'McCullen v. Coakley' Decision

Washington, DC----"Today's unanimous decision of the United States Supreme Court, striking down the buffer zone law in Massachusetts, is a victory for free speech in America," said Judie Brown, president of American Life League, in reaction to the decision reached in McCullen v. Coakley.

"The abortion industry in the United States thrives because it continually lies to women," Brown continued. "Pro-lifers in the streets outside of abortion facilities are amazed at the lies related to them by hurting mothers who are on their way to kill their child. Sidewalk counselors are able to change minds and hearts by simply offering help to women in crisis situations."

"Buffer zones like the one in Massachusetts," Brown said, "come from desperate abortionists trying to protect their businesses and their income by restricting the First Amendment rights of peaceful, prayerful people whose only goal is to help the mother and save the child from a gruesome death. We applaud this unanimous decision."

Closed: Planned Parenthood Facility to Shut its Doors Following ‘The Pill Kills’ Vigil

Washington, DC----“As the American public becomes more aware of Planned Parenthood’s real operations, the organization has no choice but to close down its facilities,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League.

Brown’s statement comes as Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced Thursday that its Fond du Lac facility is scheduled to close in September. This is the fifth Planned Parenthood facility to be shut down in Wisconsin over the last two years. Planned Parenthood blames the closures on budget cuts.

“While budget cuts may be the proximate cause,” continued Brown, “it is the activism of people who oppose Planned Parenthood all across the country that is the root cause of the organization’s problems.”

Just last week, American Life League held its annual The Pill Kills vigils nationwide. It was its Associate group, Pro-Life Wisconsin, that took the lead in this endeavor. Peggy Hamill, director of Pro-Life Wisconsin, reported that well over 100 people gathered around Wisconsin, including at Fond du Lac. Hamill observed, “One of The Pill Kills vigil sites in Wisconsin was outside the Planned Parenthood birth control dispensary in Fond du Lac. We got word June 18 that this Planned Parenthood is closing. We praise God for the faithful Pro-Life Wisconsinites who prayed and gave public witness, week after week, through rain, snow, heat, and cold, exposing the evils of Planned Parenthood.”

Hamill added, “We are so grateful to American Life League for its vision in bringing this observance to a national level five years ago.”

Rita Diller, director of American Life League’s STOPP International program, added, “We especially need to thank all of the cosponsoring organizations. Our efforts are so much stronger when working together to stand up for life against Planned Parenthood. The Fond du Lac closure is a testimony to the hard work and devotion of Pro-Life Wisconsin.”

The Pill Kills Campaign Takes Over the
      Country by Storm

Washington, DC----American Life League and nearly 60 cosponsoring organizations are coordinating a large-scale, nationwide campaign to inform women about the deadly dangers of the pill and similar hormonal contraceptives.

“The mountain of evidence that these drugs are killers cannot just be swept under the rug,” said Judie Brown, president of ALL. “We need to get out there and warn women of the dangers they face. Planned Parenthood and other pill peddlers are deceiving women and causing their deaths.”

For the next three days, organizers are planning to storm social media on Twitter and Facebook to bring light to the dangers of not just the contraceptive pill, but all other contraceptives targeted at women that damage their reproductive health.

On June 5, #ThePillKills hash tag will be posted on Twitter all day as part of ALL’s #ThePillKills Tweetstorm to bring attention to the devastating effects of the pill. “Because of hormonal contraceptives, women are dying and suffering permanent, debilitating injuries from blood clots, heart attacks, and strokes,” said Rita Diller, director of The Pill Kills campaign.

On Saturday, June 7, all across the country The Pill Kills protests and vigils will take place outside abortion clinics and pharmacies that sell contraceptives. Activists will distribute literature provided by ALL to the public, outlining all of the dangers and risks posed by contraception and contraceptive devices.

Opposition to #ThePillKills has already manifested itself on The Pill Kills Facebook page and Twitter activity, and this past Tuesday night there were attempts at sabotaging ALL’s national organizing conference call by pro-abortion and pro-contraception extremists. “Planned Parenthood does not want our message heard,” said Rey Flores, ALL director of outreach. “We will not be silenced, not when lives are at stake.”

The Pill Kills is on the web at http://thepillkills.org.

American Life League Calls Attention to
      Dangerous Contraceptives

Washington, DC----“It is with profound sadness that we must, once again, present the true facts about the dangers of contraception,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “It is a travesty that the national media allows Planned Parenthood and others to deceive women and cause their deaths.”

Brown’s comments came as American Life League revealed that its 2014 “The Pill Kills” event will be the largest it has ever run. This year’s event, featuring educational protests and prayer vigils, is scheduled to take place around the country on Saturday, June 7.

Cosponsored by 51 organizations in 20 states, the protests and prayer vigils will take place at Planned Parenthood facilities and other venues that dispense contraceptives.

“The pill was the lifelong dream of Margaret Sanger, developed and deployed by Planned Parenthood through its benefactors as an integral tool in the war on women and babies,” said Rita Diller, director of ALL’s The Pill Kills effort. “While Planned Parenthood is making millions annually selling contraceptives and abortions, it spins out propaganda at a dizzying rate to convince girls and women they cannot live happy, productive lives without putting the dangerous hormonal steroids classified as Group 1 carcinogens into their bodies day after day.”

“The headlines tell the story of women duped and suffering,” Diller continued. “Tens of thousands of women and their families are plaintiffs in lawsuits against contraceptive manufacturers. They suffered devastating, lifelong injuries and even death from products they were told would give them the best shot at a successful life. The great majority of them were totally unaware that they faced any danger by using it.”

“We protest, pray, and educate on behalf of these girls and women who have been injured, as well as the millions who stand to be harmed from the pills if the truth is not made known. Women have horror stories to tell about contraceptives, and we intend to get the information into the hands of as many as possible,” Diller said.

VIRGINIA AG MARK HERRING SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE

Herring abandoned the people of Virginia to serve special interest group

Washington, DC----Virginia attorney general Mark R. Herring will not defend Virginia's constitutional amendment codifying the common sense definition of marriage as between one man and one woman.

Herring now works with activist plaintiffs against the Constitution he swore to uphold. Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall just announced that he has introduced two resolutions in the House to make an inquiry into whether certain actions of the Virginia attorney general are impeachable offenses.

"Herring has effectively renounced his sworn oath of office to defend the Constitution. Herring is neither judge nor legislator, yet he proposes to unilaterally reject the sovereign will of the people and override the Constitution and laws of Virginia in order to benefit a group he personally prefers," said Paul E. Rondeau, executive director of American Life League, the nation's oldest Catholic pro-life education and advocacy group.

"The people of the Commonwealth of Virginia are the attorney general's client, not Mr. Herring's favored special interest group," continued Rondeau. "Abandoning his client constitutes a breach of fiduciary duty that demands Mr. Herring not only be removed from office, but also barred from practicing law."
