      American Life League Demands
      PBS Cancel ‘After Tiller’

Late-Term Abortion Propaganda to Air on Labor Day

Washington, DC----American Life League, the nation's largest, grassroots Catholic pro-life education organization, is demanding that the taxpayer-funded PBS cancel its Labor Day showing of “After Tiller.”

“’After Tiller’ is nothing short of pure propaganda intended to demonize the entire pro-life movement and drum up support for late-term abortion,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “Why are pro-life tax dollars being used to paint a sympathetic picture of abortionists who stab babies in the base of their skulls just moments before they are born? Where is the sympathy for the babies, whose brains are being sucked out by vacuum machines by these abortionists?”

“After Tiller” was funded in large part by pro-abortion groups and lists Planned Parenthood and NARAL as primary outreach partners. According to Media Impact Partners (http://mediaimpactfunders.org/festival/after-tiller/), the film’s production team’s goals include changing the view of Americans in favor of late-term abortion providers and against legislation that bans late-term abortions. The filmmakers also hope that medical students will request abortion training be made available in their curricula.

“Would PBS ever run a puff piece that was funded by the KKK in order to sanitize and normalize racism?” asked Brown. “Shame on PBS! This has no business airing on a publicly funded network.”

American Life League Asks Pope Francis to Declare Planned Parenthood an Enemy of the Church

Washington, DC----In anticipation of the Vatican’s October 2014 Synod on the Family, American Life League is launching a new campaign called Defend the Family. Rooted in prayer, this campaign seeks to expose Planned Parenthood as the most dangerous enemy of traditional families and of the Catholic Church.
American Life League president, Judie Brown, stated, “Planned Parenthood has torn apart the family like a pack of ravenous wolves. The pro-life movement and the Church must stand together, face this threat, and shield our families from Planned Parenthood’s continued assaults.”

The Defend the Family campaign is centered around a report entitled The Vatican Can Help Save Souls from Planned Parenthood in 2014. HERE’S HOW! The report, which has been translated into Spanish, Italian, and French, builds a case that an official declaration from the Vatican that Planned Parenthood is an enemy of the Church would be a powerful way to defend families. The report is available on the campaign web page at www.DefendTheFamily.org.

Michael Hichborn, ALL’s director of Defend the Faith, stated, “An official declaration of Planned Parenthood as an enemy of the Church will be a real game changer. Such a declaration will prevent Planned Parenthood employees and volunteers from serving in positions of responsibility in our parishes. Simply put, Catholics could no longer hide behind an uninformed conscience in order to assist or promote Planned Parenthood or its agenda and be able to continue calling themselves Catholics in good standing.”

Jim Sedlak, vice president of ALL, added, “Some people have told us this campaign has an impossible goal. But with God, nothing is impossible. In addition to being a massive educational effort, this campaign has a large spiritual dimension.”

ALL’s new campaign encourages regular prayers after Mass for the conversion of individual countries from the ideologies of Planned Parenthood, offers prayers for the pope, and aims to open communication with local bishops about the dangers Planned Parenthood poses to the family. ALL’s hope is that this prayer-led effort will inspire the Holy Father to officially declare Planned Parenthood an enemy of the Church.

“You may wake up with your baby removed, but your motherhood cannot be removed.”

      - Granddaughters of Pro-Life Leader, Judie Brown, write open letter response to Jenny Kutner, Salon author of “I’m Having an Abortion this Weekend.”

      Dear Jenny,

After reading your Salon article entitled “I’m Having an Abortion this Weekend,” it seems to the reader that you and your boyfriend are very close.

We’re sure you will say that you absolutely and completely love your boyfriend. But do you put his needs before your own? Do you constantly strive for a stronger relationship? Are you willing to make sacrifices for his well-being?

If you answered yes to more than one question above, then you have an idea of selfless love.

Selfless love is the most powerful type of love because it involves sacrifice. Selfless love puts the needs of the ones you love before your own. It is going the extra mile to ensure the happiness of your loved ones.

Selfless love is never easy and it takes patience and fortitude. It is not only found between couples, but is the base of all strong relationships (i.e., marriage, friendship, siblings, and maternal).

Maternal selfless love may be the most powerful of all relationships. Just like the love you show to your boyfriend, a mother shows the same selfless love to her child. She will always absolutely and completely love her child. She will put his/her needs before her own. She will constantly strive for a stronger relationship. She will continuously make sacrifices for his/her well-being.

Even though Saturday has passed and you chose abortion, that does not change the fact that you are a mother. You may wake up with your baby removed, but your motherhood cannot be removed.

We understand completely that unexpected pregnancy can be a terrifying thing. Maybe the timing was not right, maybe there were financial concerns, or maybe you were just scared. Those are all rational fears, but as you know, abortion is not the only option. Change is never easy, but that is what selfless love is all about.

In a time of change, one can become overwhelmed with his or her own future. Many times we look for what is best for “me.” The trick is to not be selfish, but selfless.

Even though you did not show selfless love by choosing life for your little baby, it’s never too late to learn. We promise there are many people out there, including ourselves, who are willing to help you heal from your abortion and understand the true meaning of selfless love.

      Yours in Christ,

American Life League’s Celebrate Life Magazine
to Feature Inspiring Story of Gold-Medal Paralympian Jessica Long

Washington, DC----Celebrate Life Magazine, the premier publication of American Life League, will be featuring the inspiring story of 12-time paralympic gold-medalist Jessica Long in its forthcoming July-August issue.

Judie Brown, president of American Life League, stated, “We are so excited to bring Jessica’s story to Celebrate Life Magazine’s readers! Jessica is a shining example of the truth that every human being’s life is precious, regardless of circumstances or disabilities. She is a ray of sunshine in the prevailing culture of darkness.”

The feature article details Jessica’s remarkable story of adoption and triumph over physical challenges and provides insight into the grit and determination she brings to her record-breaking swimming performances and her daily life.

“If you truly can’t care for the child and can’t give the child the life he or she deserves, I would give the child up for adoption, because there is going to be a family out there who will love that baby----no matter what the diagnosis is,” Jessica said. “I know it can seem really discouraging, but in the end, I think that if you would abort the baby, you would definitely regret it. I think, for me, that I would rather know that the baby would have a better life than I could give him or her instead of just terminating him or her.”

American Life League is making this issue available free of charge. To obtain a copy, call 540-659-4171. Celebrate Life Magazine is available via subscription through American Life League and also available on the Internet at www.clmagazine.org.

Hobby Lobby Decision and Abortion Lies

Washington, DC----The Supreme Court's 5-4 decision in the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby case has caused a bit of consternation among pro-abortion fanatics. The ruling makes the following statements:

Although many of the required, FDA-approved methods of contraception work by preventing the fertilization of an egg, four of those methods (those specifically at issue in these cases) may have the effect of preventing an already fertilized egg from developing any further by inhibiting its attachment to the uterus. . . .

They therefore object on religious grounds to providing health insurance that covers methods of birth control that, as HHS acknowledges, see brief for HHS in No. 13-354, at 9, n. 4, may result in the destruction of an embryo.

In each statement, the scientific fact is enunciated that there are forms of chemical contraception that do in fact work in several ways----one of which destroys the embryo because the lining of the woman's uterus is made inhospitable to the embryonic human being.

      As WebMD puts it:

Hormonal contraceptives (the pill, the patch, and the vaginal ring) all contain a small amount of man-made estrogen and progestin hormones. These hormones work to inhibit the body's natural cyclical hormones to prevent pregnancy. Pregnancy is prevented by a combination of factors. The hormonal contraceptive usually stops the body from ovulating. Hormonal contraceptives also change the cervical mucus to make it difficult for the sperm to find an egg. Hormonal contraceptives can also prevent pregnancy by making the lining of the womb inhospitable for implantation.

But this has not stopped the abortion cartel from screaming bloody murder that the decision must be condemned because it sets a dangerous precedent for women's healthcare.

They suggest that there are three lies that were reinforced by the SCOTUS ruling yesterday.

Alleged Lie #1: Birth control is the same as abortion.

Fact#1: Birth control has three modes of action, one of which does in fact destroy human beings prior to implantation. Therefore, birth control can be the same as abortion.

Alleged Lie #2: Birth control should be separated from other types of medical services.

Fact #2: The birth control pill and its progeny do not treat a medical condition, but rather are promoted as a way for women to avoid pregnancy. Therefore, these pills are not actual medical services but are, in fact, recreational drugs.

Alleged Lie #3: It's easier for the government to pay for people's birth control so that companies don't have to.

Fact #3: The government should never have gotten into the business of providing payment for contraceptives or abortion in the first place. [blog=6613]Neither is healthcare[/blog], and neither is good for women or babies.

The last word is this: Abortion mongers never met an abortion they did not like. They have never seen an act of killing a preborn baby that they did not think the government----meaning taxpayers----should pay for, no matter what the cost in human lives or women's health.

The least they could do is tell the truth.

ALL: Supreme Court decision says government can mandate taxpayers pay for abortifacients

Washington, DC----“While on the surface today’s Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case appears to be a victory for religious liberty,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League, “a careful reading of the decision reveals problems for the future.”

“In what it admits is a very narrow ruling, the Court bought the argument that the government has a ‘compelling interest’ in providing free abortifacient products to women,” explained Brown. “It only objected to the government making for-profit business owners pay for those products. The Court specifically explained that the government could potentially solve the problem by offering for-profit businesses the same accommodation that is offered to the nonprofit sector----the same accommodation that is the subject of numerous lawsuits.”

“The Court also specifically said the government could solve the problem by just paying for all contraceptives itself----including the abortifacient ones,” Brown continued. “Of course, the only money the government has comes from taxpayers. Thus, the Supreme Court, in deciding this case, told the government that money taken from taxpayers----many of whom have the same objections as the business owners in this case----can be used to pay for these abortifacient products.”

“While today’s decision is a victory for the for-profit businesses who brought the case,” Brown concluded, “it appears to simply continue the slide of America into hedonism. America is no longer a country that hails truth over falsehoods. It has been reduced to a conglomeration of institutions willing to settle for the ‘least burdensome’ way to embrace evil. May God have mercy on us.”

American Life League President Judie Brown Reacts to 'McCullen v. Coakley' Decision

Washington, DC----"Today's unanimous decision of the United States Supreme Court, striking down the buffer zone law in Massachusetts, is a victory for free speech in America," said Judie Brown, president of American Life League, in reaction to the decision reached in McCullen v. Coakley.

"The abortion industry in the United States thrives because it continually lies to women," Brown continued. "Pro-lifers in the streets outside of abortion facilities are amazed at the lies related to them by hurting mothers who are on their way to kill their child. Sidewalk counselors are able to change minds and hearts by simply offering help to women in crisis situations."

"Buffer zones like the one in Massachusetts," Brown said, "come from desperate abortionists trying to protect their businesses and their income by restricting the First Amendment rights of peaceful, prayerful people whose only goal is to help the mother and save the child from a gruesome death. We applaud this unanimous decision."

Closed: Planned Parenthood Facility to Shut its Doors Following ‘The Pill Kills’ Vigil

Washington, DC----“As the American public becomes more aware of Planned Parenthood’s real operations, the organization has no choice but to close down its facilities,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League.

Brown’s statement comes as Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced Thursday that its Fond du Lac facility is scheduled to close in September. This is the fifth Planned Parenthood facility to be shut down in Wisconsin over the last two years. Planned Parenthood blames the closures on budget cuts.

“While budget cuts may be the proximate cause,” continued Brown, “it is the activism of people who oppose Planned Parenthood all across the country that is the root cause of the organization’s problems.”

Just last week, American Life League held its annual The Pill Kills vigils nationwide. It was its Associate group, Pro-Life Wisconsin, that took the lead in this endeavor. Peggy Hamill, director of Pro-Life Wisconsin, reported that well over 100 people gathered around Wisconsin, including at Fond du Lac. Hamill observed, “One of The Pill Kills vigil sites in Wisconsin was outside the Planned Parenthood birth control dispensary in Fond du Lac. We got word June 18 that this Planned Parenthood is closing. We praise God for the faithful Pro-Life Wisconsinites who prayed and gave public witness, week after week, through rain, snow, heat, and cold, exposing the evils of Planned Parenthood.”

Hamill added, “We are so grateful to American Life League for its vision in bringing this observance to a national level five years ago.”

Rita Diller, director of American Life League’s STOPP International program, added, “We especially need to thank all of the cosponsoring organizations. Our efforts are so much stronger when working together to stand up for life against Planned Parenthood. The Fond du Lac closure is a testimony to the hard work and devotion of Pro-Life Wisconsin.”
