Judie Brown

President

Judie Brown is president and co-founder of American Life League, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-life educational organization. ALL started in 1979 and has grown from a kitchen table operation to a full-fledged professional organization with more than sixty full time employees and outreach throughout the nation.

Judie has served three five-year terms (1996-2011) as a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life in Rome. Daily Catholic cited her as one of the top 100 Catholics of the 20th century. She has distinguished herself as an unapologetic pro-life leader who has also written 12 books, including the most recent Saving Those Damned Catholics: A Defense of Catholic Teaching (2007) and The Broken Path: How Catholic Bishops Got Lost in the Weeds of American Politics (2011).

Judie has been instrumental, through American Life League, in getting many pro-life organizations started including Human Life International, Priests for Life and Pro Life Action League. ALL has a 29 year history of helping organizations grow as Judie advances the cause of personhood for every innocent human being from their creation. Her main focus has been and continues to be respect for the dignity of the human person.

Judie speaks around the nation, writes daily commentary, Straight Talk on Life that is posted on the American Life League web site (www.all.org) and is syndicated. Judie writes on contraception, abortion, Catholic dissent, Catholic Bishops, euthanasia, in vitro fertilization, biotechnology, and pro-life activism. Judie has written numerous editorial pieces for magazines and newspapers, including The Washington Post and USA Today.

Judie has appeared on 20/20, 60 Minutes, Mother Angelica Live, The O’Reilly Factor, Good Morning America, Today, Oprah, and Larry King Live, as well as hundreds of other television and radio talk shows. Her comments regularly appear in major print media nationwide.

Judie is married to Paul A. Brown, and they have three children and 11 grandchildren. She and her husband have been involved in the pro-life movement since 1969.

Paul Rondeau

Executive Director

Paul E. Rondeau is executive director of American Life League. Paul’s 25 years of leadership experience includes serving as chief development officer, chief operating officer, president, and executive director in higher education, pro-life, and pro-family organizations.

Paul has led coalitions in support of the successful confirmation of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito; pro-life GOTV efforts for 14 U.S. Senate races; and constitutional amendments at federal and state levels.

He has addressed audiences on three continents and made many appearances on broadcast, print, and new media addressing pro-life/pro-family topics. His research on communication strategies of radical social movements has been published in multiple languages and cited before the U.S. Supreme Court, the United Nations, and by best-selling authors.

His latest work, co-author of “Global Sex Deviance Advocacy: The Trojan Horse to Destroy the Family and Civil Society: A Report on UNESCO and International Planned Parenthood Federation,” will be published in the Ave Maria International Law Journal in the summer of 2012.

Prior to his work in the non-profit sector, Paul held senior international management positions with industry leaders such as Avis and Cast North America. Founder of Synapse Associates, he has consulted on management, communications, and training with over 50 organizations in the private, education, and nonprofit sectors.

Paul holds an M.A. in management and communication, a B.A. in marketing management, and multiple professional certifications. He was appointed as adjunct faculty to teach management and communications at Southern New Hampshire University.

A Vietnam-era veteran originally from Michigan, Paul is a father of two children and now resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Dr. Holiday Rondeau, professor and program director at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences.

Jim Sedlak

Vice President

James W. Sedlak, M.S., is vice president of American Life League and a recognized expert on Planned Parenthood. Among Jim’s pro-life credits are:

He is also a frequent contributor to American Life League’s Celebrate Life magazine.

Jim is a featured speaker at numerous state-wide pro-lifeconventions. He presented workshops at national conventions run by American Life League, Concerned Women for America, Human Life International and Coral Ridge Ministries. Outside the US, Jim gave pro-life talks in Canada, England, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. Jim is listed in several editions of Who’s Who, including Who’s Who in America and Who's Who in the World.

Jim was a special one-hour guest on the "Dr. Laura" radio show. He also made TV appearances on "Politically Incorrect" with Bill Maher, Mother Angelica’s EWTN worldwide network, the MTV "Sex in the Nineties" series, the 2007 HBO documentary "Friends of God," numerous local and regional TV shows.

He also appears on numerous local and national radio talk programs including "the Bishop’s Hour," "Truths That Transform," and "Point of View." Jim provides commentary on breaking news stories for numerous radio shows and other media.

In 1993, Jim was identified by Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) as one of the 15 "most active" fighters against PP sex education programs. In 1995, PPFA featured Jim in two segments of its anti-life film, Unholy Alliance.

Jim and his wife, Michaeleen, reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They have three grown children and ten grandchildren. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Manhattan College (Bronx, New York) and a Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Union College (Schenectady, NY). He is a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4034, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

In his professional career, Jim taught physics at Marymount High School in New York City. He worked 30 years for the IBM Corporation as a research physicist and manager of its corporate new products release and control methodologies. While working for IBM, he published four invention disclosures, received seven company awards, ran numerous corporate-wide task forces, achieved the position of Senior Engineer and was recognized as the corporate expert on the release and control of engineering changes. He retired from IBM in 1993 to devote a full time effort to the pro-life cause.

In his life, Jim also served as president of a Parent Teachers organization, was guest lecturer in a course on medical ethics at Mt. St. Mary’s College in Newburgh, New York and was from 1986 to 1992 an annual guest lecturer in ethics courses at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. He co-founded and was director of STOPP (Stop Planned Parenthood) from 1986 to 1994. He founded and was president of STOPP International from 1994 to 1998, when it merged into American Life League.

Jim joined the pro-life movement in 1980. Among the honors he received are: the 1984 Dutchess County Right to Life's Pro-Lifer of the Year Award; the 1987 Expectant Mother Care’s New York Pro-Life Champion Award; the 1987 Parent’s Roundtable’s Family Life Award; the 1988 American Life League’s Unsung Hero Award; the 1993 Distinguished Service to Life award from pro-lifers in Grand Haven.
