Gates Foundation, UK Government, and its Partners Celebrate World Population Day by Strategizing on How to Eliminate More Defenseless and Innocent Pre-born Babies

Washington, DC - American Life League condemns both the participants and purpose of the summit on so-called family planning, hosted by the United Kingdom's Department for International Development, [see http://www.dfid.gov.uk/News/Latest-news/2012/family-planning-london-summit-2012/], the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and their partners. Paul E. Rondeau, executive director of American Life League, issued the following statement:

We owe humanity the truth. The agenda for the July 11, 2012 summit hosted by the UK's Department for International Development and the Gates Foundation is based on a simple lie. Meeting the needs of mothers in the poorest countries by 2020 does not begin with murdering preborn babies. And, contrary to the agenda of this summit, there is nothing cost-effective about putting a price on preborn children and then promoting the notion that an innocent life must be sacrificed. That has nothing to do with maternal and child health. Plain and simple, it is a homicidal act.

This concept is merely a repeated lie used to justify evil acts that treat children as the cause of poverty rather than its victims. Let's not dehumanize these tiny lives. While freedom is important to us all, the idea of "choice" has been perverted by those who think that personal freedom is worth the cost of another person's life - and in this case, the most innocent person of all: the preborn baby.

The Gates Foundation's billions of dollars would be far better spent by improving the education, health care, and living conditions of these poor families rather than promoting the extermination of their children. Furthermore, the West has exported poisonous chemicals to the Third World for far too long. Will this summit discuss the known fact that the birth control pills they push contain substances classified as carcinogens by the World Health Organization (WHO)?

While the summit takes place, let us pray for those it has targeted: babies and mothers in the world's poorest countries.
