Abortion

Without a doubt, abortion is the pro-life concern. It's the main reason we have a pro-life movement. But believe it or not, many people don't know much about it. This section presents some of the basics. The numbers are staggering, the methods cruel and the history astonishing. Abortion simply must stop. Here's all the information you need to know why.

Bioethics

Technology has advanced to the point that many things that were once considered impossible have become almost routine. Medical research has taken advantage of these technical advances, any people have benefited from advances that offer reliable treatments for formerly life-threatening diseases and conditions. But now science is infringing on the sanctity of human life itself, experimenting with human embryos and even sacrificing the lives of those living human beings in the name of science. There is a line that science must never cross; yet today, the line is crossed as if it simply never existed. Here are some of the consequences we must deal with as a result.

Birth Control

Many pro-lifers do not see contraception as a pro-life concern, but it is. As you will see, some forms of birth control can actually cause an early abortion. Also, birth control leads to a state of mind that treats sexual activity as if it has nothing to do with babies; babies are treated as "accidents," as a burden to be eliminated. In this way, contraception is clearly linked to abortion.

Euthanasia

Assisted suicide. Mercy killing. Euthanasia. It's all the same thing, and it's the next stage of the pro-life challenge because it involves the taking of an innocent human life. Whether a person is disabled, elderly or infirm, a person's human dignity is never diminished. These human beings are under attack, so it is our duty to protect and defend them.

Philosophy

A solid philosophy is the bedrock of the pro-life movement. Without this foundation, the effort is doomed to failure. This philosophy is based on the teaching of the Catholic Church that says abortion, in any case, for any reason, is always immoral. Not all pro-lifers will accept this. But we are convinced that holding this no-exceptions stand is the only way the pro-life movement will prevail.

Technology

Granted, there are researchers doing good, ethical study on problems in human reproduction. But this heading covers a number of topics that deny the dignity of the human being and human sexuality. Human cloning. Human embryonic stem cell research. Fetal tissue and vaccine research. Science says it must march forward. Ethics asks: At what cost?

Urban Legends

An urban legend is one of those stories that makes the rounds and develops a life of its own, even though it really isn't true. There are a number of them that pop up from time to time on one side of the abortion debate or the other – and sometimes both.
