Prayer Request
Please continue to pray for Peg Saindon (Mother and Unborn Baby Care of Fox Valley), who is scheduled to begin radiation treatment today.  Please also keep in your prayers all of the Associates, their supporters and other pro-lifers traveling Washington, DC, this coming weekend for the March for Life.

The Broken Path
In her bold new book, The Broken Path, Judie Brown addresses both the political intrigue in the hierarchy of America's Catholic Church and the challenges faced by modern Catholics in this great nation. Neither Truth nor The Broken Path is always flattering: contemporary Catholic leaders in the Church, worthy of praise, are singled out as are others warranting greater scrutiny. But most importantly, Judie Brown shows each of us how we can have a positive impact for the glory of God and the integrity of the Catholic Church. The Broken Path is a work of love for the Church and a must read. For more information and to order, see www.brokenpathbook.com.

New Staff Member at ALL
Just last week, American Life League was blessed to be able to add Mr. Rey Flores to its staff as Director of Outreach . Rey has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 20 years and has an extensive background in communications and bilingual media. He will join the Associate Program director, Leslie Tignor, in developing even more effective means of communication, education and networking with the goal of rallying our current Associate groups and recruiting even greater numbers! Tip of the Month – Secular Humanism –  Social Man and His “Givenness”
From Secular Humanism? by Rev. Henry V. Sattler, Ph.D.

It is essential to being a man that he live in imperfect community with other men and women. Despite the fact that he is unequal in knowledge, skill, insight and wisdom to all others of his kind, he is equal in importance, equal before the law and must be counted as not more or less than “one” in the attempt to achieve consensus with his fellows. Yet, despite the fact that, in accidentals, “majority rules,” the rights of minorities and of individual persons, in essentials, are paramount and inviolable. This truth is not founded on man’s self creatibility but upon the truth that the fundamental form and dignity as man is not made, invented, or conferred by man but is a fundamental “given” by God.

At first, the humanist agrees with this principle in that he wishes to be “liberal” and to “liberate” man. He insists, at first, upon persuading other men to free themselves from all strictures other than their own will and free choice. Sooner or later, however, the secular humanist must become an “elitist” who scientifically “knows” better than his neighbor because the “ordinary man in the street” cannot have the knowledge and insight of the “expert.” At very least, in order to free man from the “error” (a replacement of “sin”) the humanist must insist upon detailed “regulations” and “executive orders” promulgated in the place of generic laws. These must be under the control of experts banded together into bureaucracies. Laws must be ruled inapplicable because they cannot be written definitively (as in the case of laws against pornography), and regulations must be imposed by groups or regulated by judges who take over the administration of the law.

Insisting that there is no God and no plan or inviolable model or “nature” which defines for all time what “man” is in himself, the humanist insists that man is whatever man makes of himself. Whatever secular man will make of man need not be recognizable in any way with what we now define as man.

Planned Parenthood CEOs: “We are the 1%”
American Life League’s STOPP International released a significant report today listing the salaries of Planned Parenthood CEOs. Occupy Wall Street protesters may want to move their tents over to 434 W. 33rd Street in New York City, where Planned Parenthood Federation of America headquarters are located, and where the top eight officers of this supposed nonprofit made over $2 million altogether in 2010, none less than $245,000.

Planned Parenthood takes credit for helping ‘shape’ Obamacare
In a recently released report, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) claimed credit for helping to “shape” the Affordable Care Act signed by President Obama this past March. “In the latter half of 2009 – in what will surely be remembered as a pivotal achievement – Planned Parenthood worked with its supporters across the nation to help shape and pass the Affordable Care Act,” wrote PPFA President Cecile Richards and PPFA Chair Valerie McCarthy, in a letter published as part of the organization’s 2009-2010 annual report. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/planned-parenthood-takes-credit-for-helping-shape-obamacare

According to the FDA report: Fourteen women died after taking the drug; more than 600 women had to be hospitalized, with more than half requiring major blood transfusions; the drug also led to serious or severe infections in 256 patients; overall, more than 2,200 women reported serious medical problems from RU-486.

Blog shows joys of raising a child with Down syndrome
Noah Smith is an Internet star. He is the focus of a blog called "Noah's Dad" that's gone viral from Dallas to Egypt. Noah is the funny, playful, one-year-old star of the show. The photographers, editors and publishers behind it are two proud North Texans — Rick and Abbie Smith, Noah's parents.

Meet the 'chimeric' monkeys made from the cells of SIX different animals
They may look like any other baby monkeys, but these two are scientific breakthroughs. Roku and Hex are the world’s first chimeric monkeys – created with genetic material from six ‘parents.’ But their birth has caused an ethical storm, with critics accusing scientists of disregarding the welfare of the animals.

Note: Dr. Diane Irving notes that the cautions of the animal rights researcher in this article apply as well to all the living human embryos killed in the process of research — and implantation. These human experiments would not be covered by any current laws or regulations because of the “definitions” used.

Closing Thought
Blessed the people who know the war cry, who walk in the radiance of your face, Lord. In Your name they sing joyfully all the day; they rejoice in Your righteousness.

Psalm 89:16-17
