The Pill Kills – Become a Co-Sponsor!
American Life League’s Protest the Pill Day is Saturday, June 4. This year’s theme is The Pill Kills Marriage. We’re asking all of our Associate groups to be cosponsors of this event. Have you signed up to be a cosponsor yet?

Cosponsorship simply means that you and your organization support the Pill Kills event. Whenever American Life League distributes or publishes promotional items for the event, your name and/or the name of your organization will be included in the list of cosponsors.

If your group is planning a protest (a presence outside of Planned Parenthood, other abortion facilities or local pharmacies on June 4), that’s even better! And ALL will help “advertise” that activity by issuing media releases in your community.

You can begin advertising your local event now by downloading and printing the flyer at http://www.thepillkills.com/assets/PK11flyer.pdf. Include it in your next mailing and/or church bulletin, distribute it to other local pro-life groups and pregnancy help centers and post it on community bulletin boards.

Need further ideas or information? See the Pill Kills web site at www.thepillkills.com.

Tip of the Month – Secular Humanism and Programming Children
From Secular Humanism? by Rev. Henry V. Sattler, Ph.D.

It seems that “pro-choice” is the fundamental right demanded by the secular humanist. Since this is so, it is clearly the “right” of the humanist to “plan parenthood.” He insists: “every child a wanted child,” “children by choice and not by chance.” This would be a good idea if it meant that results of action should be controlled by controlling the action. One anticipates controlling his weight by pushing himself away from the table, early, three times a day! But what Choice vs. Chance really means is that no reality has the right to exist until it is willfully chosen into existence and the choice has not been reversed! Every step of the way must be a fresh and free choice. This is clearly implied in that it is now a cultural demand that all sexual actions between heterosexuals beyond the age of puberty, whether before or in marriage, be performed without any self restraint but always with the barriers of sterilants of the various physical or chemical contraceptives. To engage in “unprotected” sexual intercourse without having a positive desire for a child from this action is to fail in “the responsibility which contraception brings.” This makes semen a threat, sperm to be bacteria, the substance of the husband an aggressive weapon – all to be armored against, rejected, reversed!

Again, it is the demand of the “pro-choice” abortionists that they be able to reverse, not only the failure of the instrumental contraceptive, but also any failure of the couple to use one! Our Supreme Court, in Wade and Bolton, conceded this “right to privacy” to all women, and refused to concede any personhood to the child, until the mother gives it personhood by unreversed “choice.” This, of course, cannot be ascertained until after the umbilical cord is cut.

For humanists, only choice itself is absolute; all things chosen are relative to the chooser. Since commitment depends on his will, he can always reverse it.

The demand for freedom of choice is so intense and conditioned on pre-programmed consequences, that the whole process of amniocentesis is used, not so much to discover and treat a disease of the child in utero, but to “search and destroy” defective human life which is considered of such a low quality as to be beneath choosing, even by the child himself.

Portugal: Girl dies of septic shock from RU486 pill
A 16-year old Portuguese girl died after taking the RU486 abortion pill. The girl died as a result of a septic shock caused by Clostridium Sordellii, an infection that until now had only been diagnosed in abortion-drug-related deaths in the United States. The girl's death was announced by Portuguese experts at the 21st European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID), which was held in Milan.

Taking birth-control pills may mask the signals that draw the sexes together, research shows
Much of the attraction between the sexes is chemistry. New studies suggest that when women use hormonal contraceptives, such as birth-control pills, it disrupts some of these chemical signals, affecting their attractiveness to men and women's own preferences for romantic partners.

Husband celebrates miracle as 'brain dead' wife wakes up in hospital
A woman who was diagnosed as being brain dead has recovered three days after her husband begged doctors to put in a breathing tube before switching off a ventilator at an Australian hospital. Gloria Cruz, 56, underwent brain surgery after a tumor was discovered when she suffered a stroke on March 7 and was rushed to the Royal Darwin Hospital in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Closing Thought

My dear people, you must not think it unaccountable that you should be tested by fire. There is nothing extraordinary in what has happened to you. If you can have some share in the sufferings of Christ, be glad, because you will enjoy a much greater gladness when his glory is revealed. It is a blessing for you when they insult you for bearing the name of Christ, because it means that you have the Spirit of glory, the Spirit of God resting on you.

1 Peter 12-14
