Inviting Mr. Obama to a fundraiser intended to help pregnant women in need is tantamount to inviting King Herod to a dinner party with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. He seeks to kill the unborn which the Church is trying to protect. Please pray for his conversion but do not give him a photo-op so Catholics for Choice can beam.
Daniel J Roach OD | 2012-08-22 15:14:50
Please disinvite Obama to the dinner for Al Smith.
Ginny Potter | 2012-08-19 19:40:42
inviting Barack Hussein Obama to the Al Smith dinner flies in the face of all the Catholic Bishop's have said recently re: Obama's Healthcare Plan....uninvite him!!
Mr. and Mrs. Steele | 2012-08-16 20:27:51
Please cancel President Obama's invitation to the dinner.
Mr & Mrs. Works | 2012-08-15 11:42:24
We need authentic church leaders who don't fall prey to PC human respect. GUARD YOUR FLOCK ! Please DIS-Invite Mr. Obama or cancel yourself. God Bless Our Church, Mother Mary Most Holy-ORA PRO NOBIS !
Kathleen Hafen | 2012-08-15 11:14:18
We need people to stand for the people, not tramp on them. Obama is taking all the freedoms away from us. Please do not help him. Thank you. A christian
Lynn Friel | 2012-08-14 21:27:01
Stand by true Catholic principals.
John farrell | 2012-08-13 14:43:25
No Obama - anti catholic. Hello?
Delores Neveux | 2012-08-13 11:48:54
Cardinal Dolan should not have President Obama at the annual Catholic findraising roast. Sincerely, Delores Neveux
Michael Thelen | 2012-08-13 07:53:40
This is a scandal.
Luciano | 2012-08-13 02:12:52
No dinner for Obama.
Rose Mary Lee | 2012-08-12 21:49:43
Why would the Catholic Church include a President who has no respect for our beliefs and mocks our faith in a fund raiser? It give the appearance that we support his policies. No wonder Catholics feel they can vote for him. The Cardinals and Bishops of the church need to stand strong against a President who is trying to destroy our church.
cjt | 2012-08-11 23:58:56
I left the church because of these horrid bishops. Brainless, backboneless, wimpy, socialists in red robes. No money for evil!
Manuel L. Branco Jr. | 2012-08-11 16:52:12
Judie, I'll never understand how our bishops fall for the evil displayed by President Obama. I pray they awaken to the Holy Spirit--now, before it's to late. God Bless You, In Christ's Peace, Manuel L. Branco Jr. Hanover, Maryland
Rosalie Webster | 2012-08-10 23:26:37
Please, Your Excellency, do not let Obama speak at the speak at The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner. Sincerely, Rosalie Webster
Gene Tischer | 2012-08-10 22:02:45
Please revoke the invitation to president Obama for the Catholic charities dinner. This sets a terrible example for us Catholics and makes us feel that he can't be that bad for our faith if a reputable Catholic organization invites him to dinner. Jesus sat with sinners, but He knew their hearts and that they were honest listeners who might come to His Kingdom. That is not the way with Obama and we know that now. He stands for what he professes and an important part of his message is that Catholicism is to be opposed in the public arena and reduced to preaching within the confines of the church. This is not a man who deserves the precious real estate that is the Catholic Charities podium.
reba woodhull | 2012-08-10 16:10:41
An invitation to Obama to voice his anti-Catholic views is such a disappointment to many of us. If the Cardinal is ok with this we have to ask -- what would the Pope think? Jesus had Pharisees and Sadducees but he didn't have atheists, and Islamists... if he did invite them to the table would HE have allowed them to speak---no---only to listen to HIM! I am the President Elect of the national Council of Catholic Women and as an individual Catholic Woman -- I object to this invitation.
virginia erfurt | 2012-08-10 14:54:51
How confusing our Church is becoming. just what is the Cardinal doing by this invitation? Are we not suing over the HHS debacle? Please stop the confusion!!!!!
James Michael | 2012-08-10 14:22:53
Judy, Keep it up. There is no excuse for this crapola anymore from any Prince of the Church. Period! Not to be unkind but with shepherds like this who needs wolves? Profoundly disappointed. If he goes through with this scandal he will have earned an additional title to add to Cardinal Archbishop...Namely, "Dolan the Dunce"
Aida Gonzalez | 2012-08-10 13:40:23
Here's a Suggestion for this event - Boycott this and force the President not to even attend this.
Bonnie Hillary | 2012-08-10 12:31:41
Catholics are being told by the bishops that the HHS mandate is a serious threat to religious liberty in our country, so why would Obama be invited to a Catholic pro-life fundraising roast- unless this is is trivial??
Alicia Brittle | 2012-08-10 11:42:50
Do not EVER underestimate Cardinal Dolan or how the Holy Spirit is working in his leaership of American Catholics. Equally important, we Catholics need to remember the first political axiom -- keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Instead of spending time hand wringing about this invitation, you should be working at local Romney HQ doing whatever is on the agenda today -- that is the number one priority -- nothing else matters.
GUNNAR NELSON | 2012-08-10 11:30:07
Adriana Urzua | 2012-08-10 10:58:02
Cardinal Dolan we are respectfully requesting that you withdraw your invitation to President Obama. It is sad to know that you have decided to stand on the side of politics instead of your faith. We are called to be more than that and you as a shephard of the church must lead your people through a very clear road overcoming all obsticles through the grace of God. I urge you to please pray about your decision and our Heavenly Father will answer your prayers.
steve mieczkowski | 2012-08-10 09:35:18
Shame on Cardinal Dolan if he does not rescind this invitation. What message does it send to all us Catholics that have stood firm against President Obama and his attack on religious freedom, especially against Catholics?
Robert L Bouchard Jr | 2012-08-10 00:10:57
Yahoo conveniently couldn't find the link to this website, so I had to go around them to reach you. Of course, Yahoo isn't known for it's Christian / Catholic support. I'm sorry I got stuck having to use their e-mail service. God Bless ya'll.
Edyta | 2012-08-09 23:42:03
Invitation for Obama has to stop.
Deborah | 2012-08-09 20:55:02
Wow - this is great. Thank you for being so fast to respond in such a powerful way and for providing the materials to all of us who want to act, but lack the resources
Jerry Grenda | 2012-08-09 20:45:48
Your Eminence, Please rescind the invitation to President Obama. In His Service, Jerry M. Grenda
Ray Neary | 2012-08-09 19:30:16
Sheer stupidity and a blatant insult to practicing Roman Catholics.
Jo Anne Lewandowski | 2012-08-09 18:03:38
I am appauled that Bishop Dolan would do such a thing. This sends mixed messages.
Gerry Wagnon | 2012-08-09 17:56:57
This is ridiculous. Pres. Obama should not be invited to anything connected with the Catholic Church.
Joseph Allen Kozuh | 2012-08-09 16:47:50
I am disgusted with both Cardinal Dolan and the USCCB. If still alive, Cardinal O'Connor and Bishop Fulton Sheen would denounce President Obama for his war on the Catholic Church !!!
Jerry and Peggy Young | 2012-08-09 16:44:34
This is truly baffeling and confussing us to no end. We have so much on our plates already to have something like this to be added to our worry and concerns. For someone who is deliberately trying to destroy the Church...this seems utterly rediculous. Please reconsider this move.
Ruth Nicholson | 2012-08-09 16:40:59
No dinner for Obama.
Suzanne and Bob Althoff | 2012-08-09 16:06:55
Judy, it would do no good for me to place any kind of protest in my collection basket. The protest must go to Cardinal Dolan. He has been so vocal against Obama, I can't imagine what he is thinking in doing this.
Hildegard Janssen | 2012-08-09 15:51:09
The dinner invitation to Obama is absurd! There will be no more donation on my part!
Rosemary Risse | 2012-08-09 15:49:39
Surely there is good reason. Cardinal Dolan has led the way in suing against the HHS insurance Mandate. President Obama will be a captive audience for whatever exposure given to the truth of life.
Frank and Rosalie Tadda | 2012-08-09 15:48:11
Aloha-- what are our shepherds thinking? This invitation is scandalous. We are called to be militant followers of Christ. Save us O Lord from such leaders
Jim Gilliam | 2012-08-09 15:40:09
President Obama has "attacked" religious freedom, unlike any other American president in history! This is not just subtle policy disagreements, but he is attempting to silence our voices in the public square. Please reconsider your position and cancel the scheduled dinner for our President!
Matthew Wade | 2012-08-09 15:34:04
Please don't party with this man who so hates our church and who works to destroy it!!
DRs. Valerie and Gordon Belln | 2012-08-09 15:32:43
Obama is against the Church, we cannot support him in any form or fashion. Uninvite this anti Catholic man from your high profile Catholic fundraiser. It's the right thing to do. God bless, Drs. Valerie and Gordon Bell
Diane Hain | 2012-08-09 15:25:55
Cardinal Dolan: this invitation to Pres. Obama is more than "bad taste", it"s bad, bad, bad judgment!
Joseph Ysasi | 2012-08-09 15:21:48
Please rescind the invitation for President Obama to speak at this event. This will be scandalous for the Church and the faithful given the recent anti-Catholic policies he's proposing.
Virginia Dolajak | 2012-08-09 15:21:28
I feel like we are being kicked in the stomach!! Again!!
Earl Whitaker | 2012-08-09 14:58:06
Great! You have even put together a kit for getting the people in the pews to participate. IMPORTANT: I notice one thing missing, there is no place on the card to put the name of the person presenting the card. PLEASE FIX THIS. Thank you so much.
Ann Dougherty | 2012-08-09 14:52:34
This is a disgrace. I'm VERY disappointed in Cardinal Dolan. What a slap in the face to Catholics. Almost enough to make you leave the church
Susan | 2012-08-09 14:34:21
The print-out-card idea is okay but you should start up an online petition instead. It is difficult for many to do the print-out idea. People are more apt to sign and pass along when it is online. :)
Vanessa Castagna | 2012-08-09 14:32:37
This invitation is confusing the non-discerning Catholics who voted for Obama in the last election, not realizing the precedence that he is creating!
Charlaine M Boff | 2012-08-09 14:22:09
