Please continue to pray for Peg Saindon (Mother and Unborn Baby Care of Fox Valley).

Pro-Life Wisconsin
How is personhood connected to slavery, Native Americans, the disabled and the preborn? A brand-new, ground-breaking animated video from Pro-Life Wisconsin makes the connection in a visually entertaining way. "We aimed to engage viewers through the use of animation, and this video really is the first animated video to discuss personhood," said Peggy Hamill, state director of Pro-Life Wisconsin. "This video is especially important given the high rate of abortions in Wisconsin and the United States. We must work toward the day when all babies, at all stages of development and in all circumstances, are protected in law. And that legal protection will occur through personhood," Hamill concluded. The video is available on Pro-Life Wisconsin's YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnmSKVGIulQ.

Broad support for The Pill Kills protests and symposium: Sign up today and bring your teens!
Thirty organizations across 15 states have signed on as sponsors for The Pill Kills 2012 National Symposium and nationwide protests. The list continues to grow. If you have not yet signed up to be a sponsor, please do so today!
In addition, pro-life groups and individuals throughout the nation will be organizing protests against the pill on and around June 2 in anticipation of the anniversary of the Griswold decision that decriminalized the distribution of contraception. It is not too late to organize a local protest. Everything you need is available on our website, www.ThePillKills.com.
Now is the time to register to attend the national symposium in Washington, D.C., on June 2. It begins at 10 a.m. EDT and will finish at 11:30 a.m. EDT. Join us at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, the same hotel that is headquarters for the March for Life each year. There will be plenty of time to see the sights of our nation’s capital afterwards.
Go to www.ThePillKills.com and register today! Registration is free but seating is limited. You don’t want to miss this groundbreaking symposium about how the pill kills women and babies.
If you have teens or teenage grandchildren, you can bet that they are being inundated with misinformation praising birth control. Bring them to the symposium! They will have a rare opportunity to hear the full truth, unfiltered by contraceptive-biased science, media and others who have a financial interest in selling the pills. The scientific facts and studies about how the pill kills, the truth about the pill and genocide, and the Church’s wisdom-filled theology about the moral consequences of taking the pill will be logically explained. Show your support of letting women know the truth by attending the D.C. symposium, if at all possible. If you will not be in the D.C. area, please plan on attending online. The entire symposium will be live-streamed. For more information, visit www.ThePillKills.com today.

Other Abortifacients: Progestins
From Infant Homicides through Contraceptives

Depo-Provera (depot medroxyprogesterone acetate, DMPA) is made by the original “Merchant of Death,” Upjohn of Kalamazoo, Michigan, now merged into the Swedish company known as Pharmacia & Upjohn. DMPA was originally approved for treatment of endometrial cancer and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had consistently denied Upjohn’s applications for Depo-Provera as a “contraceptive” until October 29, 1992. Although available for many years and prescribed by doctors for what was previously an “off label” use, it was now legal as a contraceptive/abortifacient.

Like other progestins, DMPA has the same mechanism of actions: poor suppression of ovulation, change in the cervical mucosal consistency to prevent migration of sperm, and altering the endometrium from a proliferatory to a secretory consistency so as to render implantation very difficult if not impossible. It is the latter mechanism which is abortifacient.

DMPA is given as an injection of 150mg of the drug intramuscularly (directly into a muscle) every three months. Irregular bleeding is troublesome in most studies conducted and after one year’s use, most women are amenorrheic (without menstrual periods). This is a source of much apprehension and reason for discontinuance in the Third World countries where the World Health Organization (WHO), International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and their fellow travelers have imposed this Western contraceptive imperialism on a less than receptive populace, many of whose cultures see fertility as a badge of honor and a very desirable thing.

Long-term safety of this chemical weighs against it. There has been an increased risk of breast, hepatocellular (liver) and cholangio (bile duct) carcinomas (cancers). It also causes unfavorable blood pressure and cardiovascular changes as well as altered moods, severe at times, in some women. Other known side effects are: irregular bleeding, edema (an abnormal accumulation of fluid beneath the skin or in one or more cavities of the body that produces swelling), weight or cervical changes, cholestatic jaundice (yellowish discoloration of the whites of the eyes, skin, and mucous membranes), thromboembolic events (including stroke), depression, pyrexia (fever), insomnia, nausea, breast tenderness, acne and rash.

Study shows women are confident in decision to abort, not necessarily informed
A new study by the Guttmacher Institute shows that women may be confident about their decision to abort their baby−but not necessarily informed−as  Jezebel’s Erin Gloria Ryan tries to claim. After all, people can be confident about any decision, including that their abusive husband will change or that dealing drugs is a decent way to make a living. But having confidence does not mean that people have armed themselves with any amount of beneficial, tangible knowledge.

Court's 'Pontius Pilate' move to open abortion challenge?
A “bizarre” and unexplained state court decision that was contrary to normal procedures may have given pro-life supporters the perfect storm that could prompt the United States Supreme Court to re-visit the case that legalized abortion in the first place. Citizens of Oklahoma were in the process of gathering signatures to place a personhood amendment on the ballot for this November’s elections, when the proposal was challenged by abortion advocates. In Oklahoma and many states with initiative processes, groups and individuals opposed to a proposed initiative are allowed to challenge the proposal. The ACLU and Center for Reproductive Rights challenged Oklahoma’s plan, arguing that the declarative statement in the amendment violated federal constitutional law. In what Personhood USA called “a rare move against the people of Oklahoma,” the state Supreme Court sided with pro-abortion groups and ruled on the constitutionality of the amendment before it was passed by the voters.

Bishops to investigate Girl Scouts’ Planned Parenthood ties
The nation’s Catholic bishops are coordinating an investigation of the Girl Scouts, following years of mounting evidence showing the youth organization having ties to the nation’s biggest abortion business, Planned Parenthood. The ties between the two groups have been questioned ever since former Girl Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger admitted on NBC’s The Today Show: “We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with…Planned Parenthood organizations across the country.”

On 'brain death,' a response to a rebuttal
Last month, when I questioned whether “brain death” is a valid justification for removing vital organs for transplant, many readers expressed a keen interest in the debate. Soon thereafter I posted a rebuttal by one reader, Dr. Michael DiPietro, who argued strenuously in favor of using the “brain death” standard. That article in turn drew a strong reaction from Dr. Paul Bryne, the president of the Life Guardian Foundation, who has been among the leading critics of the “brain death” standard. In the interest of continuing a lively debate, we offer herewith Dr. Bryne’s argument.

Closing Thought

Be serious in your commitment to God and gladly leave everything else alone. Literally put God first in your life.
