Please continue to pray for Peg Saindon (Mother and Unborn Baby Care of Fox Valley).

Pro-Life Wisconsin
A compelling new video just released by Pro Life Wisconsin includes shocking statements about “savages,” the “manifestly unfit,” and the “benefit” of slavery to the “Negro,” all made by ignorant U.S. Supreme Courts past. Someday the ignorance of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court, which legalized the slaughter of 55 million preborn children and counting, will also be recognized.

Children of God for Life
With the recent success of the pro-life boycott against PepsiCo, relieved pro-lifers all over the country are cracking open cans of Mountain Dew, but few are more gratified than twelve-year-old Gene Rosa, who was in the midst of an effort to end Pepsi consumption in every Catholic school in his diocese. The nationwide boycott was sparked by revelations that the soft drink company was contracting with Senomyx to conduct flavor research using cells derived from the kidney tissue of an aborted baby. Children of God for Life, the pro-life organization spear-heading the effort, declared victory after a Pepsi official confirmed an end to the unethical research.

Second Annual Pill Kills national symposium and nationwide protests: Opening America’s eyes to another holocaust
American Life League will bring three top experts to our nation’s capital on June 2 to testify to the science behind the pill’s deadly action, the theology behind the Church’s proscription against contraception, the health consequences of the pill and its cost in human lives, and well as the cultural chaos that it has left in its wake.

Working to expose the evils of contraception when other national pro-life groups remain silent, ALL is holding its second annual symposium and fifth annual nationwide effort to expose the deadly pills that have saturated our culture. The date in early June coincides with the anniversary of the Griswold Supreme Court decision that invoked a supposed right of privacy in decriminalizing the use of birth control.

Dr. Angela Lanfranchi will present a riveting, scientific presentation about how the pill kills women. She is the cofounder and head of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute and a breast surgeon who deals daily with the aftereffects of contraception on women’s health. She cites a large body of evidence supporting the fact that the pill increases the risk of breast cancer. This includes a World Health Organization report that categorizes hormonal contraceptives as Group 1 carcinogens, saying they increase the risk of cervical, breast, and liver cancer.

EWTN personality Gloria Purvis is the charming, outspoken creator and host of the upcoming television series “Authentically Free at Last.” She will discuss the impact that the pill has had on minority communities and will explain its role in black genocide. Gloria is on the board of the Northwest Pregnancy Center in the Washington, D.C., area and is chairperson for Black Catholics United for Life.

Pia de Solenni, Ph.D., will round out the program with the wisdom-filled theology behind the Church’s proscription against birth control and facts on how the pill kills babies. An ethicist and theologian, Dr. de Solenni is an expert on life issues, issues related to women’s health, the new feminism, and culture. She holds a Sacred Theology Baccalaureate from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) and a Sacred Theology Doctorate, summa cum laude, from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. In 2001, Pope John Paul II awarded her the Prize of the Pontifical Academies for her groundbreaking dissertation—an analysis of feminist theories in the light of St. Thomas Aquinas’ teachings.

You don’t want to miss this symposium. If you live in the Washington, D.C., area, or plan to be there on June 2, please contact us by reply e-mail and make your reservations to attend. Symposium attendance is free of charge, but we need to know how many people to expect.

If you are not in the D.C. area, you can watch the symposium live via the internet. To read more about our campaign to expose the dangers of the pill, visit our website, www.ThePillKills.com.

Tip of the Month – Other Abortifacients: Anti-Progesterones
From Infant Homicides through Contraceptives

The anti-progesterones include the products mifepristone (RU486), onapristone, lilopristone and other analogs, and epostane. The anti-progesterones act by various mechanisms of action, but primarily prevent uptake of natural in-house progesterone by the developing child from the mother. Sufficient deprivation of progesterone at this portion of pregnancy causes a withering of the placenta and child and sloughing off, resulting in what is perceived as a heavy menstruation by the mother.

Mifepristone is the much publicized French abortion pill manufactured initially by Roussel-Uclaf, whence it derives its initials “RU” in its common name. Mifepristone prevents uptake of the female natural progesterone, a hormone vitally necessary for continuation of pregnancy until the 8th or 9th week of pregnancy. Hence, the anti-progesterones are abortifacient only until about 63 days post start LMP (49 days after fertilization). It has become common practice to use mifepristone with a synthetic prostaglandin (PG) to increase abortifacient “effectiveness” in the 90-98% range. The PG can be given by injection, vaginally or orally. The present drug of choice in the PG category tends to be misoprostol (Cytotec). A PG is used to cause uterine contractions and help expel the progesterone-starved child out of the mother’s womb.

The anti-progesterones cause severe and, at times, prolonged bleeding in some women up to 42 days post discontinuance. About 0.1% of users have needed transfusions from the severe bleeding. Other side effects noted include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, cramping and incomplete abortion. Several women have died post mifepristone use.

Study shows women are confident in decision to abort, not necessarily informed
A new study by the Guttmacher Institute shows that women may be confident about their decision to abort their baby−but not necessarily informed−as Jezebel’s Erin Gloria Ryan tries to claim. After all, people can be confident about any decision, including that their abusive husband will change or that dealing drugs is a decent way to make a living. But having confidence does not mean that people have armed themselves with any amount of beneficial, tangible knowledge.

White House: Abortion OK, but visitors must register unborn children
The Obama administration is plenty content with legalized abortion and funding abortions with taxpayer funds, but when it comes to Americans visiting the White House, they must register their unborn children when they check in at the front door. The Director of the White House Visitor’s Office, Ellie Shafer, today distributed an email newsletter to members of Congress and others providing detailed instructions on how to register an unborn child (“a baby that has not yet been born,” as Shafer puts it) into the security system the White House uses to arrange group tours. “We have received a number of calls regarding how to enter security information for a baby that has not yet been born,” Shafer wrote. “Crazy as it may sound, you MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour. It’s an easy process.”

All assisted reproductive technologies have higher risk of birth defects: study
In a comprehensive study of the relative risk of birth defects among all forms of assisted reproductive technology (ART), researchers found the overall risk of any birth defect when using such technologies was 8.3 percent, compared to the significantly lower 5.8 percent in naturally conceived children. The most common birth defects linked to ART included cleft palate, spina bifida, cerebral palsy and cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal conditions. Comparing the birth defect rates among the various forms of assisted reproductive technology, the researchers reported ICSI resulted in the highest rate at 9.9 percent, followed by in vitro fertilization (IVF) at 7.2 percent.

Closing Thought

Jesus Christ ought to be our whole love. He is worthy of it, both because He is a God of infinite goodness, and because He has loved us to such an excess that He died for us.
