Obama Challenged on Abortion in Health Care at Summit, but Dismisses Subject  
After hours of back and forth sparring between Democrats and Republicans over health care reform during Thursday’s public health care summit, the topic of abortion funding was broached by House Minority Leader John Boehner, but dismissed by President Obama.

Canadian Doctor: 'Baby Isaiah's Status as Human is on Trial in Canada'
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, February 25, 2010 - A Canadian doctor has stated in an editorial in the Winnipeg Free Press that the controversy surrounding the fate of Baby Isaiah May is ignoring the fundamental issue at stake - the status of the child as a human being.  Dr. Joel B. Zivot, an associate professor in the department of anesthesiology, University of Manitoba, and the director of the intensive care unit, cardiac sciences program, at St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, said, "What has been reported is information that misdirects the public from the fundamental issues. … Although the issue before the court is the degree of brain injury incurred by Isaiah, I realize that it is Isaiah's status as a human being that is on trial."


English Catholic Bishops ‘Welcome’ Assisted Suicide Guidelines Condemned by Pro-life Movement
LONDON, February 25, 2010 – Despite urgent warnings from the British pro-life movement and shouts of triumph from euthanasia campaigners, a statement from the Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales has “welcomed” newly published legal guidelines on the prosecution of assisted suicide cases, saying they have given “greater protection” to vulnerable people.  The new guidelines will allow relatives to help loved ones commit suicide without being prosecuted as long as they have not gained personally by doing so.
