PP of Southeast Texas teaching sex ed to tiny tots
Planned Parenthood continually tries to paint itself as an abstinence organization while pushing sex on our children and teens. Nancy Rutherford, chairwoman of PP of Southeast Texas, testifying recently before the Nueces County Hospital District, said that kindergarten is not too soon to start teaching sex education. In fact, she said that PP even works with the Head Start preschool program on sex education.
This PP affiliate came under fire after members of the Corpus Christi STOPP group learned that the hospital district was funding PP’s sex programs in 28 area schools, consisting of elementary, middle and high schools.
Despite a huge uproar from concerned parents, the hospital district voted to continue funding the PP sex programs for another year. Van Huseman, chairman of the hospital board, said, "We have … a moral obligation" to continue giving money to the world’s largest abortion chain, since the original agreement was to fund the programs for three years.
Sexfest and other sex events bring PP to college campuses
Planned Parenthood was among the groups that set up shop at Ithaca College’s Sexfest for students, hosted recently by the Residence Hall Association in Ithaca, New York.
According to the college newspaper, The Ithacan, items available to the students included “posters and sexual items, such as passion fruit lubricant students could taste, and hands-on condom demonstrations. Decorations included pick-up lines taped to the floor leading to IC Square, mood lighting and popular music playing in the background.”
The article reports that a PP representative said she “wanted students to feel comfortable talking about sex and asking questions. She said she was happy seeing students take information and condoms.”
In Ohio, students at Columbus College of Art and Design competed for scholarship money by designing clothing made out of condoms. PP of Central Ohio was in a virtual condom frenzy, with a reception for its patrons featuring swirling condom-shaped lights. The program celebrating PP’s 77th anniversary began with a “fashion show” of designs created by the students.
At Washington State University in Pullman, Voices of Planned Parenthood (Vox) gave away condoms and coupons for birth control, and promoted PP’s efforts to defund abstinence education and draw more government dollars to fund its own brand of sex education. “Safer sex is sexy,” said Tricia Christensen, president of Vox.
International PP gives highest award to late-term abortionist Tiller
George Tiller, who had boasted of killing over 60,000 nascent babies, was posthumously awarded International Planned Parenthood Federation’s Medal of Honor on September 30. The award was presented to his widow by Alexander Sanger, the grandson of PP’s foundress Margaret Sanger.
Tiller was known throughout the world for his late-term abortion business. He had a furnace in his facility where the bodies of the late term babies he killed were burned. He also offered parents such services as a lock of the dead baby’s hair, a funeral conducted by a staff chaplain and even “baptisms” of the baby’s remains.
Tragically, Tiller was murdered at the Lutheran church he attended on May 31 of this year.
“Safe, legal” PP abortions send three Southern California women to the hospital via ambulance
Pro-life activists in Riverside, California, report that a woman was rushed by ambulance from a Planned Parenthood abortion facility there on October 3.
Additionally, pro-lifers in Orange, California, reported two ambulance evacuations of women from the PP facility there, on September 16 and 26. The pro-lifers photographed the events, and sidewalk counselors are successfully using posters made from these photos to discourage women from entering the facility in Orange.
Security officers have reportedly stepped up efforts to intimidate pro-life activists at the Riverside facility in Riverside, according to a report published by ChristiansUnite.com.
Street activist’s murder sparks unprecedented New York Times coverage
On October 10, the New York Times, long known for its pro-abortion bias, ran an amazingly candid front-page story and an online gallery of pictures of aborted babies accompanied by an additional write-up.
The story was generated by the murder of James Pouillon, a pro-life street activist of many years, who was known for displaying graphic signs of aborted babies.
New York Times writer Damien Cave attended Pouillon’s funeral and, through interviews with attendees, produced the amazing stories that brought forth the compassion, drive and effectiveness of pro-life witness on the streets. Street activism has always been a cornerstone of STOPP’s effective plan for defeating Planned Parenthood.
The front-page story featured Dan Brewer, a former foe of Pouillon who became his ally; former Las Vegas police officer Chet Gallagher, who has been involved in street protests at PP and other abortion facilities for many years; and Debra Anderson, a pro-life activist who was unwanted and abused as a child.
Dr. Monica Migliorino Miller, a professor of sacred theology at Madonna University in Michigan, was the focus for the online picture gallery and write-up. According to the article, Dr. Miller photographed most of the aborted babies who appear on pro-life signs used throughout the country at abortion mills and other PP facilities.
Another PP bites the dust: Eighteen and counting for this year
Planned Parenthood of Montana announced that it will be closing its Kalispell clinic on November 20. PP cites a decline in patients as the reason for the closure. The Kalispell facility committed abortions on preborn babies of up to 21.6 weeks of gestation.
PP officials in Kirksville, Missouri, also cited declining patient numbers, in addition to lack of contributions, as reasons for the recent closure of PP’s Kirksville facility.
This closure follows on the heels of the closure or announced pending closure of 17 other PP facilities this year: PP of El Paso, Texas, seven facilities; PP of Indiana, five facilities; Rhode Island, one facility; Virginia, one facility; Washington, one facility; and Wisconsin, one facility.
These closures, and the recent refusal by the Adair County (Missouri) Health Department to incorporate the PP name into its services, are a testament to the hard work of pro-lifers who continually shine the light on PP’s programs and its abortion business.
Not only do businesses no longer wish to have their names connected with PP once they become aware of its agenda and the extent of its sex programs, but people in need of health care services are realizing that there are other facilities available that are not involved in killing preborn babies and sexualizing our children.
To all of you who work tirelessly to expose PP, kudos! Keep up the fight!
