Rock for Life Kentucky Rallies Youth Around Personhood by Katie Walker Released September 14, 2009
Washington, D.C. (14 September 2009) – Pro-life young people are using music to reach a new generation of activists in the Bluegrass state.
The Kentucky chapter of Rock for Life will host “Faith Fest” on Saturday, Sept.19, from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at First Love Church property on Fashion Ridge Rd. in Dry Ridge, Kentucky.
“Faith Fest” is free, and food and band merchandise will be available for purchase. The outdoor festival features local Christian bands and up-and-coming hardcore band "Datum Point."
Rock for Life chapter head, Brenda Murphy, will also lead the crowd in recommitting themselves to the fight for personhood and human rights for all human beings from their biological beginning.
“As President Obama fights to impose his abortion mandate on the nation, more and more young people like the ones in Kentucky are standing against the pro-death political climate and using music and culture as a springboard to spread the message of personhood” said Kortney Blythe, chapter coordinator for Rock for Life.
“We’re excited to see young people across the country – from Kentucky to Washington D.C. to Oregon stand up and say 'no more!' - every human being should be recognized as a person."
Rock for Life, a project of American Life League, works with hundreds of bands and thousands of pro-life youth who use music as a means to engage, educate and equip our culture to be advocates for LIFE. “You will not silence my message, you will not mock my God, you will stop killing my generation.”
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.
