PP does not respect parents
In the “Dating, Family & Friends” section of the Teen Talk web site promoted on Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s home page, a teenage girl asks, “My boyfriend and I have decided that before we have sex [I] should be on the pill or some kind of birth control, but still use a condom. I asked my mom about putting me on birth control, and [I] even researched it but she said no...what do [I] do now?”
PP answers, “It's good that you and your boyfriend have discussed using birth control. In general, parental permission is not needed for prescription methods of birth control like the pill.”
PP then continues, in a very impersonal way, to describe different ways the girl could still have sex. Remember this the next time Planned Parenthood says that it promotes parental involvement.
PP opening abortion facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina
Planned Parenthood will be opening an 11,000-square-foot, $3.3-million facility by next week at 4551 Yadkin Road in Fayetteville. PP says it plans to offer surgical and medical abortions at the facility in the future.
PP affiliates in Nebraska and Iowa to merge
In an exclusive report on Monday, August 3, the Omaha World-Herald reported:
Citing tight budgets and high expenses, Planned Parenthood affiliates based in Omaha and Des Moines are likely to merge by the end of the summer. The deal will create one large affiliate: Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, with administrative offices in Des Moines. The paperwork finalizing the merger is expected to be finished late this month, said Jill June, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa. Her group will merge with Planned Parenthood of Nebraska and Council Bluffs. June will run the merged affiliate.
Iowa PP hands out condoms at video game parties
The above-mentioned Planned Parenthood affiliate, Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa, celebrated its 75th anniversary with a Rock On! contest last Friday at the Des Moines Social Club. For $10 admission, participants received free T-shirts and condoms as they played the video game Xbox Rock Band™ for prizes.
PP of Greater Iowa will be holding more Rock On! contests in Iowa, including one scheduled for this Friday at The Ritz, 394 Okoboji Grove Road in Arnolds Park and another event on Friday, August 14 in Creston.
Perfect places for “educational” demonstrations!
Prices slashed on some STOPP resources
The fight against Planned Parenthood continues to rage across the country. Just in the last few months, efforts to counter PP have begun in Arizona, Texas, Maryland, Michigan, Alabama, Montana, Washington, Pennsylvania and many other places. To help you to educate your community with the truth about PP, we have slashed the prices of three of our most popular resources:
1. Our four-disc audio CD set on PP (item #5700) is now just $9.95.
2. Our two-disc video DVD set on PP (item #PPDVD) is now only $19.95.
3. Our picket sign “Planned Parenthood Steals Souls” (in English on one side and Spanish on the other) (item #PP12) is now just $6.00.
All of these items, plus our educational brochures on PP, can be ordered through American Life League’s resource department. Call 866-538-5483 toll-free or order online at www.prolifegear.org.
Almost a no-show for PP in Utah
Planned Parenthood's Action Council is attempting to force its brand of sex education into Utah’s schools. It is holding a series of meetings around the state in hopes of convincing school officials and the general public to support it.
At PPAC’s meeting on Tuesday night in Tooele, only four people showed up: three school district administrators and a health department representative. The picture below, from KLS TV (Channel 5), shows the meeting in progress.
According to the Deseret News, Melissa Bird, the executive director of PP’s Action Council of Utah said, “I wish more people were here."
While it is great when PP calls a meeting and no one comes, it is even better if pro-lifers can stack the meeting and make it clear that PP’s sex ed is not wanted—even as an option. A note to our readers in Utah: PP Action Council officials plan to have more town-hall meetings in other cities, including Murray, West Valley City, Logan and Cedar City.
