Recession Rx or desperate trap?

Planned Parenthood of Indiana is attempting to recruit more customers by calling its most recent activity “Recession Rx.” Using the failing economy as a way to bring in more customers, PP is offering “free annual exams and STD screenings, plus birth control pills at $9 a pack, up to three packs, or one $27 Depo Provera injection for anyone in need.”

Anyone in need? Who really needs birth control pills? Who really needs a Depo Provera injection? And how does one qualify to be “in need"? According to PP, you just need to prove that you are unemployed and you can qualify to put these dangerous chemicals into your body! Many of our readers know about the dangers behind the birth control pill and similar products. Just one look at the long list of side effects found on
www.ThePillKills.com web site will show you how dangerous these drugs really are.

Recession Rx is a program that is funded through a bequest from an Indiana resident’s will. According to
PP of Indiana’s web site, it is a $38,000 grant. The grant enables PP to bring in more customers and to trap women into thinking that PP is a trusted health organization that offers all of these deals. However, when STOPP called one of these PP facilities, the PP employee who answered the phone continued to refer to an entirely different program called Title XX, which is funded through the government.

How many “offers” or “deals” could PP really offer to pull in more customers if it did not receive a total of $349.6 million from our own tax dollars in 2008? We must defund PP and help shut down these clinics across the country. Sign the petition:

PP and its promiscuity

As we reported
last week, PP added a new addition to its web site called Teen Talk, which appears to be replacing PP’s old web site Teenwire. If you dare to visit PP’s web site, you may notice that a lot of its promiscuous material and videos come from Teenwire. However, after reviewing the site, we have noticed new additions that were not as obvious before. You may have thought Teenwire was over the top!  We have come across new images of youth that would concern any parent.  One example is an image of two young women kissing. This image is above several provocative comments such as one that says “Are You Sexually Healthy?” What is PP trying to communicate?

While Teenwire was filled with cartoon illustrations, the PP web site has photographs of people behaving in all sorts of promiscuous ways. And this is the message it sends: Some people behave this way, so that means it is ok to act this way! PP is pushing as far as it can go.

PP is desensitizing our youth into thinking that any type of sexual behavior is absolutely normal! This is an outrage! Please consider starting a PP protest in your community to help spread the word about how disgusting this organization really is. Please visit:

Summer events to protest

We have seen a number of times that protesting a PP event can help educate the people in your community on the harm it does to children and young adults in our communities.

As the weather gets warmer, it is a good thing to consider other ways to oppose PP in addition to praying outside a PP facility. Perhaps you’d be interested in passing out literature at a PP event! Here are some opportunities for you to get involved in spreading the truth about PP.

Wisconsin

June 20, July 25, and Aug. 1

PP Advocates of Wisconsin plan to be outside the Capitol Farmers’ Market in Madison attempting to “educate” the people in the community about “reproductive rights issues,” among other things. Perhaps the pro-lifers in Madison could help spread the real truth about PP, the largest abortion chain in our country.

New Jersey

June 25

PP Affiliates of New Jersey plan to participate in Lobby Day and a rally in Washington, D.C., as well as holding different events within the state throughout the next few months. Perhaps you’ll be in D.C. on June 25 or would be interested in peacefully spreading the truth about PP at another PP event. Visit
http://www.plannedparenthoodnj.org/upcomingevents for more information.

Illinois

June 12

PP of Illinois is sponsoring “Friday at four.” Tickets are $30 at the door. It will be held at Quartino’s, 626 N. State, Chicago, Illinois. Perhaps those who participate really aren’t informed of the racism and rape-cover-up recently exposed at PP facilities. You could help educate them about PP. For more information go to: www.plannedparenthood.org/illinois/friday-4-27141.htm.

Protest the Pill Day this Saturday!

Join pro-lifers across the country and protest the pill! American Life League, along with Pharmacists for Life International, Pro-Life Wisconsin, Women Influencing the Nation, Human Life International, One More Soul, Pro-Life Unity and the Archdiocese of Mobile’s Respect Life Office will be sponsoring the largest protest against the birth control pill this country has ever seen! We have heard from pro-lifers as far away as Australia, Honduras and other places throughout the world who want to inform their communities about the deadly consequences of the pill.

One question we commonly hear is whether it is safe to take the pill for medical reasons. The answer to this question is:

Since each woman and situation is different, you should talk this over with your doctor and find a safer alternative. In many cases, the pill does not treat or cure your medical condition, but is nothing but a band-aid, which can actually cause even more problems. If your doctor has no other alternative, then contact the Pope Paul VI Institute at (402) 390-6600 or visit their web site to learn more
www.popepaulvi.com. There are trained professionals there who can help you find the real source and treatment for your medical condition, and they may be able to make a referral to a trained physician in your area.

More questions and answers can be found on the Talking Points section of our web site at:
http://www.thepillkills.com/talkingpoints.php.

Interested in starting a protest? It’s not too late! Visit
www.thepillkills.com for more information. Nervous about protesting? Visit our Map Room web site and look over the information we have provided on state regulations, and what you should bring when you are out witnessing peacefully.

Bishop denounces PP

The following article was published in reporternews.com on Sunday, May 31 by Rev. Michael Pfeifer, OMI., the bishop of the Catholic diocese of San Angelo, Texas.

We write this letter to inform the people of our beautiful community about a deadly procedure that is practiced at Abilene's Planned Parenthood Perini Center, 3449 N. 10th St.

Planned Parenthood, in its written information, sadly states how it kills the precious unborn by offering "medication abortions," which are produced by using the deadly and controversial drug RU-486. This drug is destined to kill, and not heal or cure as all medicine should, and it also very often causes the woman using it very serious health problems. This "medical abortion" kills an unborn baby, a true human being, a fact confirmed by medical science and technology, and has caused the death of at least two mothers.

As we address this deadly procedure of Planned Parenthood, we clearly point out that we believe, based on many passages of sacred Scripture and the constant belief and teaching of Christianity, that all life including the unborn is sacred, made in the very image and likeness of God and has an inherent right to life. We also believe in responsible parenthood that does not include the killing of the unborn as part of its family planning. We also strongly support family planning that works with human nature and not against it.

While we sorrowfully admit that there is a man-made law that permits the killing of the unborn, we strongly encourage parents, especially women, who consider abortion to remember the higher law of God against killing and to think of other options: keeping the babies or placing them for adoption. In 1963, Planned Parenthood stated: "An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health." When and why did Planned Parenthood stop considering the unborn to be a baby? Abortion promotes disrespect for human life and fosters more violence.

Planned Parenthood is a huge business, and a major part of this business is the killing of unborn children, aborting 290,000 babies in 2007. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the single largest abortion provider in the United States and does this with the help of more than $336 million in taxpayer funding.

Americans need to know that Planned Parenthood still bases its philosophy and principles on its founder, Margaret Sanger, who called Christianity "parasitic" and looked forward to the day when humanity would be freed from its tyranny. We want all parents to know, especially single women who are faced with a crisis decision, that other life options are confidentially provided through the Pregnancy Resources of Abilene and through many of our churches, which offer moral, social, financial and spiritual assistance.

In closing, we pray the short, powerful prayer of Pope John Paul II, "God, give us grace -- when the sacredness of life before birth is attacked, to stand up and proclaim that no one ever has the authority to destroy unborn life."

Thank you Bishop Pfeifer for taking a stand against PP and educating your community on the evils of this organization!

We encourage all of our readers to submit letters to the editor and be a voice in your community. So many mothers and their preborn babies are in desperate need of real help and truth.
