Donate to PP to honor your mom?
Despite the fact that Planned Parenthood does this repeatedly, every year we are struck by how senseless it is for PP to request donations in honor of mothers. The nation’s largest abortion chain, which killed over 305,000 babies in 2007, wants you to give it money because Sunday is Mother’s Day.
As advocates of life, we understand the true definition of motherhood: Once a child has been created inside of a woman, that woman is a mother for the rest of her life. What a beautiful miracle! PP, on the other hand, says that motherhood only happens when you’re ready for it, and if it happens before you’re ready, you don’t have to be a mother. That’s where contraception and abortion come in, and they represent a large chunk ($374.7 million) of PP’s total income for last year alone.
Yesterday, PP sent out an e-mail blast asking for money. The hook was Judy Blume, an active supporter of PP and children’s book author. Blume wrote, “There is no organization that I know of that supports motherhood and all that it means more than PP.” Sure, we could just laugh when we read this, because we all know this is so far from the truth. But this is nothing to laugh about. PP has murdered over 4,000,000 babies in the United States. PP has no clue as to what motherhood is all about.
The e-mail blast ends with another quote from Blume:
It's not easy to be a mother these days. And right now — with more and more women seeking care from Planned Parenthood health centers — we need to do all we can to support them. By honoring a mother in your life, you'll be making a gift to millions of mothers and families who seek care from Planned Parenthood. That's a gift any mother will appreciate.
I’m sure we all could think of many mothers who would not appreciate their children “honoring” them by donating to this organization, which is also racist and covers up rape. We must stop this nonsense and continue to spread the truth about PP. Stop PP’s tax funding now!
PP promotes National Women’s Health Week
Did you hear? National Women’s Health Week is May 10-16, and Planned Parenthood is offering all sorts of services to help women improve their health! Oh, wait a minute! That is only what PP would like you to believe.
PP of Indiana is offering free Pap testing for women on May 11 at its Evansville clinic as part of National Women’s Health Week. PP Greater Memphis Region is giving away free emergency contraception at its 1407 Union Ave., Memphis, Tennessee, clinic on May 11. To top it off, pushing PP's recent Get Yourself Tested (or GYT) campaign, PP in Manatee, Florida, is trying to bring in more customers by advertising that it will offer STD testing for only $5.00!
This latest campaign is just another marketing scheme to bring more people through PP's doors. Perhaps PP is nervous, since it saw a 3.8 percent customer decrease in 2007. Could it be that more and more Americans are learning that PP cannot be trusted? We definitely have reason for such hope, and it should encourage us to continue spreading the truth about PP before it attempts to spread more STDs across the country by means of the sick agenda and sex education that it pushes onto our youth.
PP events to protest
Interested in protesting some of Planned Parenthood's events? Well, if you’re in California or Iowa, be sure to check your calendar!
PP Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley of California is hosting a “Style Uncorked” fundraiser tomorrow, May 7, 5:30–7:30 p.m., and Friday, May 8, 6:30–9:30 p.m. There will be a lot of wine involved, and PP hopes its guests will spend a lot of money as well. Tomorrow’s event will be held at the RedWhite+Bluezz wine bar, (http://www.redwhitebluezz.com/) 70 S. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, California. Friday’s event will be held at the George H. Maxwell House, 55 South Grand Avenue, Pasadena, California.
If you live in Iowa, PP of Greater Iowa will be hosting “Party with Passion: 75 Years and Still Talking About Sex.” The cost for each person to attend this event is $125. It will take place on May 22, 6:30 p.m., and will be held at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, (http://www.prairiemeadows.com/) 1 Prairie Meadows Drive, Altoona, Iowa.
You may recall a report one of our STOPPers in Philadelphia sent us last month. Pro-lifers there passed out literature about PP to the actual guests attending a fundraising event. May you be encouraged and continue to stand up for the truth!
Protest the Pill Day ’09: The Pill Kills Women
Join American Life League on Saturday, June 6, and be part of the largest protest against the birth control pill! Last year, participants across the United States shared the facts on exactly how the pill kills babies. This year, we will expose the sordid details surrounding the tragic effects these chemicals have on women. We will emphasize the truth about how the pill kills women.
Help us unmask the truth and hopefully save lives. You can do this by having a presence outside of doctors’ offices, pharmacies, PP clinics and other family planning facilities, or even out on the sidewalk at a busy intersection. Wherever it is – help get the word out!
Our 2009 Talking Points will help you answer any questions you might be asked about how the pill can kill women. We also have a flyer to help you advertise your local protest, The Pill Kills T-shirts, signs and – new this year – we have The Pill Kills stickers!
Be sure to visit our web site, www.ThePillKills.com, to check out all the new and updated information. Also, please e-mail us at protests@all.org to let us know you are participating!
Protest the Pill: Saturday, June 6!
Thank you, National Pro-Life T-Shirt Week participants!
For seven straight days, pro-lifers took the pro-life message to the streets. People all over the United States and around the world took part in American Life League’s National Pro-Life T-Shirt Week. By proudly wearing pro-life T-shirts in everyday locations and situations, awareness of human personhood was increased and open discussions were inspired.
This year, ALL launched a “Yo! Where’s the Shirt?” photo contest. It involved over 300 different tasks that pro-lifers could do while wearing a pro-life T-shirt. Some of the tasks included posing next to a professor or in front of your school while wearing a pro-life T-shirt. It gave students and adults a little incentive to go out and proudly witness for life.
To view the photos sent in by pro-lifers across the country, go to www.npltw.com/photoboard.php and click on a task. Be sure to take a peek at task 32, which is “Standing in front of a PP.”
ALL thanks all of the participants! May you continue to be a pro-life witness in your area! For more ideas on how to stay involved, visit www.npltw.com.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Everyone here at American Life League wishes all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day!
Blessed Mother Teresa said,
That special power of loving that belongs to a woman is seen most clearly when she becomes a mother. Motherhood is the gift of God to women. How grateful we must be to God for this wonderful gift that brings such joy to the whole world, women and men alike!
Let us pray for an end to abortion and an end to PP, and thank mothers everywhere for accepting this beautiful vocation and gift to the world. God bless you, moms!
