Planned Parenthood begins medical abortions in Abilene, Texas
Planned Parenthood in Abilene, Texas told local news media that it has been committing medical abortions at its site for the last two weeks and will continue to kill children there.
The latest Planned Parenthood killing center is located at 3449 N. 10th St.
Local pro-lifers who want to begin protesting this outrageous killing and work to see this facility close down should e-mail us at protests@all.org and we will put you together with like-minded individuals.
Planned Parenthood pushing Sex Ed in Utah
At the root of Planned Parenthood’s operations are its comprehensive sexuality education programs. These programs form the base for everything it does.
The Planned Parenthood standard operating procedure is to promulgate its sex education programs which get kids interested in, and make them feel comfortable with, having intimate sexual relationships before marriage. In fact, Planned Parenthood stated years ago, in its Oregon Team Report, that the key to its success in Europe has been to get society to accept the fact that kids will have sex.
These sex education programs create a demand for PP’s birth control products and, when these products fail, for abortion.
Recent news reports reveal that Planned Parenthood is currently trying to get its sex ed programs accepted in Utah. It is time for all concerned parents in Utah to contact your state board of education and let them know you do not want PP-style sex education taught to your children.
What you can do about Notre Dame
Many of our readers are upset about the fact that the University of Notre Dame has invited President Barack Obama to be its 2009 commencement speaker and to receive an honorary law degree. As 52 Catholic bishops, including Bishop John D’Arcy of South Bend, have stated publicly, this invitation and honoring of Obama is directly against the instructions of The United States Catholic Bishops.
At this point, Notre Dame has made it clear that it will not rescind the invitation and will go ahead with the event – even though Bishop D’Arcy is refusing to attend.
There is much frustration, but there is something you can do. Each diocese in the United States examines the organizations and institutions in their diocese and the bishop decides which ones are truly Catholic. A list of all those organizations and institutions is printed each year in a publication called The Official Catholic Directory. Since it is published by P. J. Kenedy & Sons, it is also referred to as the Kenedy Directory.
American Life League has launched an effort to have Notre Dame removed from this Directory, and you can help. We need as many people as possible to sign our petition to remove Notre Dame from The Official Catholic Directory. The signatures will be presented to Bishop D’Arcy on May 14, 2009 – just days before Obama’s speech.
Please go to http://www.all.org/ndpetition/ and sign.
Also, send this link to as many people as possible. Let’s get tens of thousands of signatures so that the good bishop will be emboldened to do what is right – remove Notre Dame from the directory until such time as it changes its ways.
For anyone within driving distance of South Bend, Indiana, you are invited to join American Life League at the Front Gates of the University of Notre Dame (at the intersection of E. Angela Blvd. and N. Notre Dame Ave) on Tuesday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. There will be a press conference kicking off the effort to collect the signatures for an appeal to Bishop John D’Arcy of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend to remove the school from the Official Catholic Directory.
Weapons to fight Planned Parenthood
The effort to close down every Planned Parenthood facility in the country is a battle. And, as with any battle, it is important to have the right weapons. American Life League is dedicated to giving you what you need to win this struggle. Here are the tools for each phase of the effort:
1. Education – The first thing you need to do in this struggle is to educate your local community and show them the threat of Planned Parenthood.
a. A good way of doing this is to use American Life League’s Stop Planned Parenthood DVDs. After we created these DVDs, we sent them to our law firm to make sure nothing in them would lead to a lawsuit. The attorneys not only gave us their full approval, but told us that at least one of the attorneys who reviewed the DVDs became convinced of the need to fight PP. Each track on the DVDs runs for approximately 20 minutes, so they are great to use at monthly meetings or on cable access TV.
b. You can get the same content as the DVDs, but in a more convenient package, by circulating our Stop Planned Parenthood CDs. These audio recordings can be brought into the car or other places where watching the DVDs is not convenient. You get the same useful information, but without the pictures. Great for use on radio programs.
c. You can schedule an American Life League speaker to come to your town to specifically talk about Planned Parenthood. No meeting is too large or too small. We do not charge a speaker’s fee, but only ask that you cover transportation and lodging costs. There is nothing better to educate and mobilize your community than having an expert on PP talk at your event. To schedule a speaker, send an e-mail to jsedlak@all.org.
2. Activism – Once you have the community understanding the evil of Planned Parenthood, you need to get them activated.
a. First, you can read our Plan to Defeat Planned Parenthood and implement the program in your community. This is a proven program that has resulted in the closure of over 100 Planned Parenthood clinics.
b. American Life League provides a number of brochures that you can use to distribute during your activism efforts and to further educate the public. We encourage you to use these brochures wherever you are. There are also signs and stickers that will be helpful to you in getting out the message.
3. Schools – One of Planned Parenthood’s main objectives is to sexualize your children through its offensive and graphic sexuality education programs. American Life League provides the definitive book to fight PP in public schools. It is called Parent Power and it will help you fight your local school systems and win!
4. Ongoing information – No matter how much you read about Planned Parenthood, it is always changing and always finding new ways to hurt our children. We encourage you to get everyone in your area to subscribe to the Wednesday STOPP Report. Just follow this link, (http://www.all.org/subscribe.php), fill in the information and check STOPP.
You will begin receiving the Wednesday STOPP Report FREE the very next week.
Planned Parenthood cannot defend abortion
Planned Parenthood operates the largest abortion chain in the nation – 295 medical and surgical abortion facilities committing 305,310 abortions in 2007. Yet, it appears it just cannot defend what it does.
Fox News carried a story on Monday recounting how Kathy Ireland reluctantly became a pro-lifer. Ireland recalls that, as she was in her final stages of becoming pro-life …
“I called Planned Parenthood and begged them to give me their best argument and all they could come up with [sic] that it is really just a clump of cells and if you get it early enough it doesn’t even look like a baby. Well, we’re all clumps of cells and the unborn does not look like a baby the same way the baby does not look like a teenager, a teenager does not look like a senior citizen. That unborn baby looks exactly the way human beings are supposed to look at that stage of development. It doesn’t suddenly become a human being at a certain point in time," Ireland argued. "I’ve also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being. I didn’t want to be pro-life, but this is not a woman’s rights issue but a human rights issue.”
Never be afraid to challenge Planned Parenthood’s reasoning. It simply has no basis in truth for its positions.
Planned Parenthood closing clinic in Virginia
Planned Parenthood has announced the closing of its clinic in Lynchburg, Virginia – located at 1120 McConville Rd. The official last day will be June 22, 2009.
According to published reports, Planned Parenthood is blaming money problems (lack of donations) as the reason for the closing. The Lynchburg facility opened in 1995 and was the subject of some protests. In 2001, it joined other PP facilities in Virginia selling “patriotic condoms” which the president of Planned Parenthood of the Blue Ridge claimed would allow Virginians “to display their colors proudly” after 9/11.
Praise God as another PP facility is removed from another town. We will see the day when America is Planned Parenthood-free!
