Planned Parenthood releases its 2007-2008 Annual Report

Last week Planned Parenthood Federation of America released its 2007-2008 Annual Report. By looking at this report, it is very clear to see the main focus is abortion. PP reported to have murdered 305,310 preborn babies in 2007. That is 15,560 more babies than it reported to have killed in 2006. This is outrageous! Each year PP reports to have killed more babies! In 2001 it reported to have killed 213,026 babies and each year since then the numbers have continued to rise.

PP also reported to have received $349.6 million from the U.S. government.  Those are our hard-working dollars! Government money has also been increasing over the years and this is something that must STOP!

The number of STI, that is sexually transmitted disease testing, for both men and women in 2007 was 2,994,749. This is yet another area that PP is focusing on, especially with its recent push of the “Get Yourself Tested” campaign. If PP can get more customers into its clinics, then it means more business for PP. However, in 2007, PP received a total income of $1.04 BILLION and a profit of $85 million. That means that $85 million of U.S. taxpayers’ dollars went right into PP’s bank account. This has to stop. We must end all government money from going into the hands of PP. Please continue to spread the truth behind PP and, if you haven’t yet, sign the petition to defeat PP’s tax funding: www.stopplannedparenthoodtaxfunding.com.

Below is PP’s latest numbers from the last two years. If you would like a full list of PP’s annual reports of the past five years, e-mail us at stopp@all.org and include “PP Analysis” in the subject line.

Stats to use in the PP fight

One of the many things that we like to provide our readers with are stats that you can use in the fight against PP. As we have done in the past, here are some facts that you can use in your letters to your congressmen, to the newspaper and internet or in your discussions with the people in your area. The more people who use these stats against PP, the more of an effect it really has on PP’s image because we are informing the public on the truth behind PP.

Planned Parenthood performs 24 percent of total abortions in the United States.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in America.

Planned Parenthood killed over 305,000 babies in 2007.

Abortion is one-third of Planned Parenthood’s clinic income.

One out of every four abortions is committed in a Planned Parenthood facility.

Taxpayers gave Planned Parenthood $349.6 million in 2007-2008. This is an increase of $12.9 million from 2006-2007.

In 2007-2008, Planned Parenthood put $85 million of taxpayer money right into its savings account.

Planned Parenthood has murdered over four million preborn babies.

More than 1,000 protest outside PP facilities on Good Friday

On April 10, Christians participated in prayer and fasting as they took part in Good Friday, the day Christians commemorate Jesus’ persecution, crucifixion and death. Some Christians went to church, some had to work, some prayed in their homes and some prayed outside PP.

As we reported in our March 25 edition of the WSR, pro-lifers in Plattsburgh, New York, were expecting around 100 people to attend its prayer devotion of the Stations of the Cross outside the PP facility in Plattsburgh on April 10.

We are happy to report that the pro-lifers had the largest attendance at their Good Friday Stations of the Cross event this year than in the past 15 years. Over 150 people attended the prayer event including nine priests. In the past, the pro-lifers have had problems with PP supporters. These PP supporters would park their cars in the designated parking spots where the pro-lifers had been given permission from the city to hold their prayer event. This year, with fear of it happening again, the pro-lifers went out early and met with the police and made sure the spaces that they were having their event on were going to remain open and not blocked off by PP.

We’re happy to hear that it was a success!

The pro-lifers in Plattsburgh came out and prayed the Stations of the Cross outside PP. There were a few PP supporters that came out, but not enough to change the atmosphere the peaceful pro-lifers made by their witnessing.

We’re also happy to report another peaceful prayer protest which was held in St. Paul, Minnesota, on April 10.

About 1,000 people participated in prayer outside the PP facility in St. Paul, Minnesota. Brian Walker, Program Director of Pro-Life Action Ministries, informed us that pro-lifers were outside the PP facility from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Good Friday.  They had 14 pastors from different denominations come show their support, and Archbishop John Nienstedt of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis came out as well.

Pro-Life Action Ministries has been in existence since 1981 and they have three locations in the U.S. One is in Saint Paul, Minnesota, one is located in Duluth, Minnesota, and the other is in Altamonte Springs, Florida. One of their main focuses is sidewalk counseling. Outside the PP facility in Saint Paul there are sidewalk counselors present five days a week.  There have been a total of 60 saves this year within the three Pro-Life Action Ministries locations.

Thank you to all of the pro-lifers who have been working very hard to help save lives in your area!

These are just two examples that show it is possible to get community participation in local protests outside PP clinics. With prayer and constant perseverance, you can raise a whole lot of awareness of how evil PP truly is. With God’s help, you can get community support. You can get support from the religious community. You can save lives. You can make a difference and you can shut down PP!

Four PP clinics have been ordered to stop medical abortions

We have received word that four PP facilities in San Antonio, Texas, have been ordered to stop performing medical abortions! It was discovered that the clinics were not licensed to perform medical abortions.

Thanks to the efforts by San Antonio Coalition for Life and Texas Alliance for Life, PP has to stop its medical abortions.  In addition, violations have been discovered at the PP facility located at 104 Babcock Rd. in San Antonio where surgical abortions take place.

Due to the hard work and persistence of pro-lifers, PP is being investigated and there has been an announcement made that an effort is on its way to defund this organization! We encourage STOPPers across the country to perform your own investigations of the PP facilities in your area and demand a stop to taxpayer funding.
