Planned Parenthood and STDs: Its latest attempt to push its own name
All of us who have been fighting Planned Parenthood for quite some time have seen all sorts of different tactics that PP uses to bring in customers. Its National Condom Day or “Proper Attire” condoms are just two examples. In PP’s eyes, why not take advantage of the STD crisis in our country, with one in four teenage girls having an STD, and make up some phrase to get customers into its clinics – looking as if it really does care.
MTV and the Kaiser Family Foundation joined in on PP’s latest marketing push called “Get Yourself Tested” or GYT for short. Even calling it GYT is an attempt to be more teen savvy since many of our youth are instant messaging on the internet and texting on their cell phones. Using acronyms is a form of communication that today’s youth are using. For example, “Talk to you later” is TTYL.
This latest scheme, Get Yourself Tested, is something PP hopes will encourage young people to talk about getting tested for STDs so frequently that it would be like getting an oil change for your car. Everyone needs to get it done, so when are you going in? We know this is another stunt to push its promiscuous propaganda, but do our teens realize what PP is doing to them? Brainwashing them to come into their clinics – supposedly to be tested for an STD, and at the same time giving them condoms and selling them birth control; making more business and helping spread STDs and, thus, creating more business.
We have seen several reports across the country of different PP affiliates and clinics advertising this new marketing ploy. We couldn’t resist sharing an article with you from the Michigan Messenger that described this new initiative and yet came out and said that, while PP clinics charge for STD testing, most Michigan Health Departments offer the testing free. Interesting. Even some of the secular media sees PP’s ploy for bringing in the money.
As we sympathize with the people in Africa who are suffering with AIDS, some think that condoms are the solution. However, last month Pope Benedict came out with a statement saying that distributing condoms only makes the problem worse. Edward C. Green, Harvard University's director of the AIDS Prevention Research Project, stated that the pope is correct.
The problem is that teens and young adults are using condoms and birth control thinking that these types of things actually can protect them from getting an STD! PP is teaching them that relying on contraception and abortion is safe. Unfortunately this is very scary, as one in four abortions occurs at PP facilities and, according to the Center for Disease Control, the cases of syphilis in the U.S. from 2001 to 2007 continue to increase.
We need to be educating our young people on chastity. We need to show them that PP’s tactics are NOT helping them. We need their parents talking about it, their grandparents talking to them about it. The youth of our country and world today face many pressures and PP is behind a lot of that. We must get this organization out of our schools and out of our kids’ lives! Take a stand and educate your community on the evils of PP.
“Real life. Real talk.” Real nonsense.
As we have reported before, PP is trying to sell its material and ideology not only to the youth, but also to their parents. If PP can’t reach directly to each and every young person (even though it attempts to do this through sex education programs, disgusting web sites, peer outreach programs, etc.) then PP is certainly going to try to desensitize our youth’s parents into thinking that PP actually knows what it’s talking about! One of the ways PP is attempting to do this is through a program called “Real Life. Real Talk.”
This program’s purpose is to indoctrinate parents with PP’s philosophies and convince them to pass these dangerous ideas onto their children. It discusses “healthy” sexuality. Yet we all know what kind of “healthy” information PP uses with articles such as “Foreplay 411: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Not Doing It,” “Safer Sex 101,” “Be Prepared for Prom” and other topics and discussions that we choose to not mention here because they are so distasteful. Yet this information, with ideas and suggestions on how to ruin your life, is infiltrating the heads of our young people!
“Real Life. Real Talk.” is currently in four different areas of the country: Tucson, Arizona; Rockland County, New York; Portland, Maine; and New Haven, Connecticut. It is only growing. St. Louis, Missouri, is the next possible location--with five PP facilities in the surrounding area and 17 clinics in the entire state.
What can you do? Help defund this organization! Write your congressman, inform your church, start a coalition to fight PP, join our American Life League Associate program (Did we mention it’s free?) and fight this deadly organization head on!
National Pro-Life T-shirt Week
With the tremendous success of ALL's National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day over the past six years, ALL decided to turn this day into an entire week. This great pro-life initiative is very popular for high school and college students because all you have to do is wear a shirt and you are already being a pro-life witness!
National Pro-Life T-shirt Week is April 28 through May 4. This year there is an exciting new photo contest and those who receive the highest amount of points will win hats, CDs, shirts and much more.
The official National Pro-Life T-shirts are running out fast, so be sure to visit the web site and participate! They are only $6.50!
Go to: http://americanlifeleague.stores.yahoo.net/naprtwet.html to buy the shirt or go to: http://www.npltw.com for more information.
Having a presence sure makes a difference!
Praise God for all of the pro-lifers who have been sacrificing their time and energy for the mothers and the preborn babies. Pro-lifers in the state of Texas had such a successful experience participating in 40 Days for Life that they plan to start a group called the West Texas Coalition for Life.
These courageous pro-lifers have been holding vigils outside the PP clinic in Abilene, Texas. They have helped mothers and babies, including a young mother who drove away from the PP facility thanking the pro-lifers for their witness because she had decided to not have an abortion.
Praise God.
Witnessing outside of PP facilities works! It really does. As reporternews.com states, PP now has plans to offer abortions at this Abilene PP clinic. More of a reason to start a regular protest outside this facility and do all that you can to prevent this from happening!
STOPP thanks West Texas Coalition for Life for its hard work, and may God bless you in your fight against PP!
To start a protest in your area, or if you have questions, visit www.stopp.org/maps or e-mail us at protests@all.org.
Congratulations to all the participants in 40 Days for Life!
As of Sunday, April 5, day 40, Shawn Carney of 40 Days for Life reported a total of at least 368 lives saved during these 40 days. Now the reports show that there were a total of 421 babies saved! That is remarkable! Thank you to all who participated in this fantastic life changing and saving initiative. God bless you!
New protests in California and Texas!
We are excited to report that we have heard from Niles Anderson out in Manteca, California, and there is a group that protests outside the PP clinic in that area every Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. To view Niles’ contact info, visit the protest information by clicking here.
We have also heard from Juan Gaona and the pro-lifers out in San Antonio, Texas, who are starting a regular protest outside the PP facility on Babcock Road. Plans are currently set to have a regular presence every day until that PP facility shuts down! To view Juan’s contact info, click here.
With these new additions, that brings the total amount of protests to 158 outside 131 Planned Parenthood facilities in 33 states and Washington, D.C. This is fantastic! Thank you to all the STOPPers who have made the decision to move forward and do everything you can to remove Planned Parenthood once and for all out of your towns!

Happy Easter!
STOPP wishes all of our readers a very blessed Easter. May God bring you joy and reinvigorate you to continue to help save lives. As difficult as this fight can be at times to defeat Planned Parenthood, let us all find strength from our Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered, died, and conquered sin by rising from the dead and granting us eternal salvation. May He inspire you and grant you peace and inspiration on your continued fight.
Happy Easter.
