hot button issues
ACOG: The ACOG Committee of Ethics has prepared a position paper
which, if adopted, will require doctors who conscientiously object to performing
abortions to refer patients to abortionists. Said ALL's Judie Brown, "It is
obvious that the desire to satiate an appetite for money has taken over the
entire organization. ACOG has been involved in deception and death for years."

of conscientious refusal in reproductive medicine," American College of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists, 11/07 / "ALL blasts forced abortion
referrals," American Life League, 12/13/07
PERSONHOOD: ALL's Judie Brown notes, "Until the life of a single child
prior to birth becomes as important to every American as a Christmas shopping
list, a bridge date or a desire to satisfy every sexual whim, the body count
will continue to rise."

justice," American Life League, 12/10/07
PLANNED PARENTHOOD: ALL's STOPP International notes that yet another
deception is being spread by the nation's largest abortion chain. Planned
Parenthood said a recent CDC report showed that abstinence-only sex education
programs had failed. In reality, the CDC report says no such thing.

Planned Parenthood deceit," Wednesday STOPP Report, 12/12/07
SAVING THOSE DAMNED CATHOLICS: Judie Brown offers a brief video
synopsis of her latest book in a new posting on YouTube. Of her work, Joseph
Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League writes, "We can always count on Judie
Brown and American Life League to keep up with the shenanigans of the so-called
'Catholic' leaders. Judie's call for authentic leadership from the nation's
bishops and priests is key to rejuvenating the Catholic Church's role in
American life."

abortion
RISKS: A recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine
claims "there is no evidence that a previous medical abortion, as compared with
a previous surgical abortion, increases the risk of spontaneous abortion,
ectopic pregnancy, preterm birth or low birth weight." However, Brent Rooney,
MSc, has written to the journal pointing out that there is every reason to
believe that both types of abortion can and do result in an elevated risk of
premature deliveries in subsequent pregnancies.

the risk of subsequent adverse pregnancy outcomes," New England Journal of
Medicine, 8/16/07 / "Informed consent for
abortion," Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, 9/04
RISKS II: Further documentation on the adverse consequences of
abortion is found in the report, "Cost consequences of induced abortion as an
attributable risk for preterm birth and impact on informed consent."

morning-after abortion pill
WISCONSIN: A bill that would require hospitals to dispense the
morning-after pill to sexual assault victims has stalled in the state assembly.
Pro-Life Wisconsin, an American Life League associate group, opposes the bill.
Dr. John Rinke, an emergency room physician, noted, "I don't want to have to
choose between my conscience and my career,"

contraception bill stalls," Wisconsin State Journal, 12/12/07
politics
LESSER OF TWO EVILS: "When you vote the lesser of two evils, you
continually lower the pro-life standard," said Michael Hichborn, American Life
League media director.

stem cell research / ethical
MUSCULAR DYSTROPY: A new study focused on treatment for Duchenne
muscular dystrophy reports that modified stem cells from muscular dystrophy
patients eased symptoms of the disease in mice. The new research using adult
stem cells paves the way for research in humans suffering from the disease.

cells may ease muscular dystrophy," Associated Press, 12/12/07

reflection for prayer
CONTENTMENT: Mark Pickup notes, "'Now godliness with contentment is
great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can
carry nothing out' (1 Timothy 6.6-7) I do not need to be afraid of the future or
bitter about the present. God is with me."
